Kevin Burke and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill at 1981 Milwaukee Irish Fest

Recorded at the first Milwaukee Irish Fest in 1981, Kevin Burke plays Paddy Fahey's version of Garrett Barry's Jig paired with Jackie Daly's hornpipe version. This was part of the Irish Fiddling Workshop. Burke and Frankie Gavin conducted the fiddling workshop on Sunday, August 23rd.

Recorded on August 22, 1981 at the first Milwaukee Irish Fest, these tracks are from the Traditional Irish Music Workshops presented at the festival. Mícheál Ó Domhnaill performed "Is Trua Nach Bhfuil Mé in Éirinn" during the Songs of Emigration workshop. Listeners may be familiar with the version recorded by Ó Domhnaill and the Bothy Band in 1975. The workshops were given on the Channel 12 stage.

Established in 1992, the Ward Irish Music Archives houses the largest public collection of Irish music in America. It is named after John J. Ward Jr., father of Irish Fest founder Ed Ward. The archive currently consists of more than 40,000 Irish music recordings and pieces of memorabilia ranging from rare 78 rpm's, LP's and sheet music to song books, instruments, and concert memorabilia.
