For our 59th release, we are very excited to present ‘Rudiments’, a new album by Gooooose.

‘2022 was a strange time in Shanghai. The good thing about being locked inside for months on end was that I had had the chance to find the time to observe ordinary, everyday things that surround me and probably many other people. A pencil, socks, a packet of biscuits, vegetables, meat, or small thoughts or some feelings or emotions that last for only half of a second. They all have interesting shapes and very delicate structures, multiple layers, like some sort of primal architecture made by an anonymous person many years ago. They are constantly telling stories, however often ignored by me, or us, for whatever reason. I decided to sit down and observe them carefully, and later started making sounds for them and their stories.

Markus Steinkellner lives in Vienna, composing, producing and performing live as IDKLANG as well as part of groups such as Mermaid & Seafruit and Alle Formen Trio. For conceptual improvisation sessions (‘Urban Loritz Jam’) and as part of the group Fa Tech, Markus uses the public space as studio and stage. Markus has been performing live in Europe, South America and Asia, including appearances at Donaufestival, Elevate Festival, Hyperreality, Impulstanz, Parkingstone, Fuga Industrial or Unsafe+Sounds. They also write music for theatre, dance performances and radio plays, including productions at Berliner Theatertreffen, Münchner Kammerspiele, Ruhrfestspiele, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Residenztheater München or Nationaltheater Mannheim.

Spurred on by the acuteness of current global events, we are raising our voices in solidarity with the oppressed, the tortured, the silenced, and the unheard. The events that shake Palestine and Israel are resulting in an ever-tighter spiral of violence and desperation. They are a horrific wake-up call that brutally brings the precarious situation on our planet to the fore. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinian civilians are intolerable. On top of that, the military actions threaten the lives of the remaining hostages in the Gaza-Strip, and even more innocent people in Gaza.

SONIC AGENCY - IDKLANG - "Snapping Fingers Into The Void"

Tufi & Oliver Torr join forces for Tied With Wire, their debut on WARE.

Tied with Wire is a slowly cooked collaborative project. In this EP, Tufi revisits sketches from 2019, reshaping and morphing them with Oliver Torr into adventurous club music, full of twists and turns. Drawing from Tufi's multi-genre influences, the seeds of his Argentinian cultural background, and Oliver's precise sound design, evolving textures, and harsh atmosphere, the result is a cohesive four-track EP, where the weird and the familiar become one piece tied with wire.

Partly completed during a week-long studio session in Athens with an organic approach, the project reflects an ongoing learning process—a fertile ground for experimentation without any time pressure. In an age where reality is accelerated, prevailed by anxiety, individualism, competition, and the relentless race against time, this EP aims to decelerate time. A break and a reminder of the urge of collective spirit.
Adding to this collective sense, the duo invited long-time friend Bungalovv to conclude the project with the artwork.
