I don't know, why I am into Hip Hop and EDM lately, but I can not help it. And I have no idea where to publish it, so SC is my place for my out of place tracks. I was very impressed by the power of this woman defending the rights of the Maori-people, so it inspired me to make a track out off her speech at the New Zealand parliament. I was looking at old photos of a town gathering in the 1800s for a lynching. I was struck at the carnival atmosphere, the presence of all kinds of people, women and children. This is disturbing but very real and it is NOT confined to America,the South but instead is a sad global problem with religions and "God". Too often I think religions are excuses to commit some of the most awful  human atrocities . Religions,like leader cults(nazis/emperorsetc), seem to blind masses into justifying the slaughter  of the enemy of the day. God in most religions preached tolerance/forgiveness/inclusion and yet these fundamental principles are conveniently forgotten when it comes time to fulfill some self serving goal, monetary/territorial or ego. I wish I knew why

Faraway (Acoustic)

According to Wikipedia, the Blue Ridge Mountains’ signature hues–visible from afar–come from trees, which emit the organic compound isoprene. My home region with its mystical haze has long been a source of awe, intrigue, and creative inspiration for many, including me. Today, I’m really excited to release a 5-song digital EP called “Blue Ridge Mountain Waterfalls,” available on Bandcamp.

Conveying stories and emotions through music and lyrics remains a great joy of mine. As is common in creative writing, the tales are a blend of real-life and fiction, some almost entirely the latter. The title song was inspired partly by my late grandmother, who passed away shortly before my son was born. I fondly remember her and her mountain living skills: country cooking, gardening, canning. The song is a reflection on some of life’s landmarks.

At first, I had plans to record these songs with other musicians, and perhaps alternate versions may yet come to fruition. But for this release, I pursued a humbler, more personal approach, starting each song with acoustic guitar/ vocals and overdubbing a couple of extras like mandolin and piano where necessary.

Though originally I didn’t conceive of a mini-album, it became clear, looking back from a distance, that these songs correlate to effect a grander vista. The story elements are suffused in that beguiling blue aura of home.

Silver

I am an unsigned singer/songwriter from Sunderland in the north east UK.

I have been writing songs for a few years now and have CD's on various web sites such as CD Baby, Itunes , Spotify etc.  My goal is to write good songs and hopefully have come up with a few along the way.

I love wring and recording songs – it gives me great pleasure staring from nothing but a blank piece of paper and finally coming up with something that sounds good.

I have collaborated with other people while being on Soundcloud – my long-time partner Ralph Donkin writes exceedingly good lyrics and between us have come up with many a good song.

My other partner Glen Granthem from Sacramento in USA has also been inspirational in my recordings – he is a very talented musician and producer and has brought life to many of my songs that otherwise would have been second rate.  We also have collaborated on many songs.

I have written songs with other people and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their endeavours.
