One of the most moving and emotional sets I've ever heard...

Rob, absolutely magical mix. I find myself coming back to this and your other great downtempo mixes (All of a Sudden, Kanvis 2, Figment Fragments and Holding Patterns especially) again and again. They are something special.

Its cliche, but music is truly time and place.    At some time each of these grabbed me, be it last week or at the advent of Soundcloud.

DJ HISTORY: The first place Andy DJ`d was in the 6th form common room and didn`t play out again until into his 40s...dancing always came first! The SUNK parties in London were a launch pad, co-hosting with Chris Chippindale and Truly Madly. Andy has played at various venues up and down the UK - with upcoming bookings at "Funk In The Forest" Brithdir Hall in Welshpool, Wales and "MLD goes live - Dub & Techno infused Festival" in Premnitz, Germany.

With character and a refreshing light-heartedness, DJ City has built a strong following on European dancefloors over the last few years. Drawing from both old school Chicago, Italo, and contemporary producers, he playfully navigates the elements that make up a well-constructed dance floor. The People In The Fog is a moniker of DJ Sodeyama. He has been a stalwart of the Tokyo underground for nearly three decades, cutting his teeth in the 90's and retaining a key presence at the forefront of Japan's house music scene.

Over the years he has released a sprawling array of music under a few monikers on the likes of Zenit, Rekids, Quartz and трип. However most recently he has been operating under the guise of The People In The Fog which has afforded him the chance to dig deeper into his sound channeling elements of funk, downtempo and the dubbier undertones of house.

He has released this material on Japanese record label Sound Of Vast and for dj's in the know those records have become a 'buy on sight' scenario.

This mix showcases versatility and class. Tight blends, excellent, deep thoughtful selections.

Phantasy’s long-running mix series continues apace with a contribution from a key figure in London’s electronic and alternative underground, Casper Clark. Perhaps best known under his former Volte-Face alias, this wide-ranging hour finds Clark reigniting his fundamentally eclectic sensibility, seamlessly blending records from Black Merlin, Idjut Boys and The Parallax Corporation, spanning twenty-five years of music at the authentic margins.

“I started DJing nearly 20 years ago, at least partially inspired by the way Erol used to play at Trash and later Bugged Out and beyond. I was lucky enough to book him over the years at our Adventures In The Beetroot Field parties as well as Field Day and even the Lock Tavern, which I used to programme back then. As I drifted more towards exploring techno under my Volte-Face moniker, our paths diverged somewhat, and a few years went by when I didn't bump into him or see him play all that often. So this mix feels like a homecoming of sorts, and an expression of a rekindled musical freedom and a cherished friendship. I even managed to squeeze in a track by Tiga, who was another formative influence for me. I hope it's as fun to listen to the mix as it was to make it.” - Casper Clark

Ruede- a child of Berlin, almost that is. Actually born in the rural surroundings of the capital he decided to move inside- eight years ago. Nevertheless call him a city-dweller cause the city is where he feels home. After civil service he left ?mean ? Brandenburg trying to find work as a ricochet in web-agencies, movie-shakes and magazine night-guides. 

From the proceeds of the new economy he soon is able to buy himself the first records. He is fascinated of the artwork mixing and with every night that is being danced through his drive to express himself through it grows. At the same time his passion for writing leads to the long coalition between him and the FLYER Magazine where he works as editor for many years making him even more intimate with the Berlin clubbing culture. 

Inspired by the exzentrical clublife he and his friends decide to found a not commercial partyforum called Restrealitaet.?“Restrealitaet” that up ?till today is playing an important role for the Sub-cultural scene in Berlin. The producing of electronic music is developing slowly. Ruede is not coming out of a musically gifted family- his father is loving Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones but reading notes for him is a foreign language. In his youth, making music is reduced to the notes in choir, the holes in his flute and the permanent out- of-tune guitar. It was his first computer that established him the view through the sequence-window which he still favours to look through upon the world of squares. His prime- track is released on the Berlin Freizeitglauben - Label where he is almost showing off his poppy side which he articulates further on the following “New Fresh EP” on Freundinnen Records. 

One could find his actual disco-electro sound on international label compilations like Output Records and Kitsune while his sound started to spin more and more around techno and house with every extra after-hour. That explains why soon a far more minimal outline for the dance floors: The Dog vs. Dog on Lebensfreude Records could be heard. Dj ?s like Sven Va?th or Michael Mayer gave credits and with his growing attention Ruede decided to professionalize his passion and learned the fundamentals of audioengeneering at the SAE-Institute. Since 2006 Ruede is playing as resident Dj in the Watergate Club in Berlin as well as in the Harpune in Du?sseldorf and- along with his friend Fraenzen, has set up a studio they can call their own. Since 2007 he belongs to Upon You Records on which he entered with the “Ghostdriver” E.

Its Friday night and we set sail on our bikes to find Robot Heart deep Playa. Once we arrived we landed on the bus with a view of the moon just peaking over the horizon. Slowly it starts to rise and it gets bigger with every step up, reaching for the sky. Blood orange, some of us were confused, was this the moon? This was the biggest I'd ever seen her and as soon as I saw this magnificent sight, something came over me…. just let myself go. This may be, the Soul of the World.
