- Hey Anton, what's up?
Grey, rainy, sunday with family.

- How did you record the podcast/which mood/story behind it?
If you know, we opened RANDOMART STORE in Prague with my wife 2 years ago: Vinyl is my direction in the store and Anna presents clothes which she creates.

So, all tracks on podcast from vinyl records which we have in our stock.

- What's your musical background?
Ohh, lot of music from different age and genre.

- What about your tools of production, analog or digital?
if we talks about djing I'm using vinyl format, but when we concern music production I'm using analog and digital technology.

- How do you come up with such various genres in your releases? How do you choose your artists?
First of all it's kind of magic moment : i listen the sound, first and after  i'm reading the name, but of course i know lot of good artists already and i'm trying to follow them all.

- Who are the DJs or producers that inspire you?
I have few essential standards in various genres, who became classic : Sergei Rachmaninoff, Erik Satie, Brian Eno, Wolfgang Voigt, Mathew Herbert, Mathew Jonson, Cab Drivers, Ricardo Villalobos, Moritz Von Oswald, Jeff Mills...

- Where are you from and where have you lived? How is the scene around your place ?
Originaly i'm from Moscow. How i said before, we opened the RANDOMART STORE in Prague, so i am quiet often in this city. I know very nice local artist and dj's, who try to make musical life more interesting. How told me my friends, long time was a recession in underground scene in Prague , but last year things went smoothly and nightlife bubbled again.

- Any other things cooking you would like to tell us about?
I'm finished my ambient album, also in first part of next year you will see few vinyl Ep's from me and also i'll start write music for russian modern video opera...

- What drives you/is important to you beyond music?
Music, family and friends - this three important thing  for me.
Books, movies and good vine are good also ! 

- Anything else to say to the world?

CMYKast #022 - Anton Kubikov (SCSI-9 / Pro-Tez Records)

EQ Recordings have done it once again. This time by releasing their brand new album from the Balance series: Balance 003 - Mixed and compiled by Bill Hamel. 

After the previous two highly successful Balance compilations mixed by Sean Quinn and Kasey Taylor you can only expect the highest of quality from this one. 

Bill starts this CD off with the massive track 'Darko' remixed by Blackwatch. This is a very impressive dark track and is a perfect way to kickstart this mix before slowly but skillfully blending in the next killer track, which is Lula's - 'The DJ The Music & Me' (vocal remix) by Peace Division. The CD is definitely a work of art by Mr Hamel and his track selection and mixing is absolutely superb. The highlight of the Disc 1 has to be the massively popular 'Gorecki' track fitting in the best of ways. 

Disc 2 starts by dropping the huge Evolution mix of 'Close'. It's soothing sounds and effects of pure progressive pleasure is a great way to build the mood for this CD. Track 2, Tilt's 'Headstrong' (Maria Naylers volcal remix) is then masterfully mixed into the first track.Towards the end of CD2 Bill drops in the magic track 'Need' which has been masterfully remixed by Satoshi Tomiie, this gem is guaranteed to get your heart pumping. Following this masterpiece by Satoshi, Bill spins us the tune 'Gentle Rain', which gives you the feeling your standing in a gentle shower of raindrops - the perfect end to an impressive album. 

Tom Pandzic's EQ Recordings sure has come a long way, producing some of the best albums available for purchase, and this gem is no different. Have a listen, but I definitely recommend you purchase your a copy.
