'Shore to Shore’ is the debut album set to drop from Phase on Metalheadz, and after the artist’s history on the label, it was the next obvious step for both him as well as the imprint. Handpicked by Metalheadz label boss Goldie, the Belgium native residing in Switzerland is following in the footsteps of a Beatport No.1 on Metalheadz with his collaboration ‘Call In Me’ alongside Grey Code with a brand new album.

‘Shore to Shore’ brings back the all-encompassing listening experience of an album. With thirteen brand new records offered by the producer, each selection is as immersive as the next. Beginning with its title track, it delivers layer upon layer of cascading breaks and stunning vocal crescendos from LaMeduza and it’s the optimum way for Phase to pull you into his domain. ‘Stress Out’ and ‘Frameworks’ provide a darker climate, juxtaposed by the ethereal tones of ‘Flowstone’ and ‘Cloud Contours’. The more stripped back assembly of ‘Something’s Missing’ pushes against the drum rhythms of ‘Inner Schism’, whilst LaMeduza appears once again for ‘Thirds’ and ‘Good For Nothing’. ‘Quick Fix’ flips the switch with its subterranean levels meanwhile the grooves of ‘Tatter Tune’ add more to the track list’s diversity. Ending the album comes ‘Riven’ with its jazz-inspired breakdowns and ‘Only One’ with UK talent Tyler Daley – a name in his own right and highlighting the scope at Phase’s fingertips.

Even the album’s artwork, hand-painted by Italian designer Matteo Saccò is a visual representation of the album's journey. Mirroring its audio experiences of different emotions and turbulences throughout, it repackages these themes in a visual format. Highlighting once again that ‘Shore to Shore’ truly is an all-encompassing project.

For the burgeoning producer, ‘Shore to Shore’ is one of his biggest projects. It lays bare the musicality he has available to him through years of dedication to the craft and with a combined journey, Metalheadz was the perfect place for its release. It proves that alongside several singles laying in its wake, April is looking to be another important month for both the producer and the LP’s home at Metalheadz.

Being Addictive Behaviour's last release of 2017 and 25th release in total, it was decided to deliver something a little bit special. 

Bringing together label regulars Mystic State alongside a host of talent from previous outings for an epic collaboration project and the labels first full artist LP. 'Mystic State Versus' consists of 6 collaborations with artists including Philth, Detail, Xanadu, Data 3, Third Degree and Wingz as well as a cheeky VIP of Mystics last Addictive release and a new solo effort from the Bristol Based duo. Here's what they had to say about the project:

"To quote our style icon Bob Ross, the way this LP came about was a complete happy accident. The Addictive Behaviour chaps thought it would be a good idea for some members of the roster to put their heads together and write some collaborative music. We started off with “Shakedown” with Detail, a producer who has impressed and inspired us since we started this music thing. The track came along so quickly that we decided to keep going. “Chambers” with Third Degree was our next venture, and in the coming weeks we started bits with Philth, Wingz and Data 3, which flowed together so nicely that the idea of an EP was on the cards. One thing led to another, and we discovered an old track we started with Xanadu nearly 2 years ago after we met him at a gig in London. We passed it back and forth until “Shenhai” was completed. By this point, we’d gone too far, and decided to LP the shit out of it. We made a VIP of “Under the Shadow”, and tidied up a solo track “Shottaz” and realised we had a full length piece of music. We enjoyed making this release so much, it was incredible to work with so many talented producers. If you enjoy listening to it even half as much, we’re happy. Big up to all the listeners, and to Clayton & Neil for supporting us"

To celebrate the launch of the album Mystic are joining us at Dalston's Bar 512 along with the rest of the LP's artists as we get in the festive spirit with a Xmas Party like no other. Join us on 22nd of December for a special Xmas shindig and album launch party.

‘Upside Down’ is the second track from HumaNature on the EP and our favourite of the two, a late addition to the project it closes out the release in silky smooth fashion. Jazz influences run riot, flickering keys revolve around sliding guitar notes and pulsating horn movements create a rich introspective feel.

HumaNature - Upside Down

New Zealand based nice guy Monika and American graphic designer and cat enthusiast Akuratyde have teamed up again, with their first efforts of 2021 resulting in this inviting 2-track offering. The transpacific pair have developed an unlikely friendship through the combined parallels of drum & bass and the internet over the last few years, with their first contact appearing on Monika’s ‘Himalaya’ in 2018. Autumn 2020 saw a 4-track outing on Fokuz Recordings, and the duo are further building on this newfound sound with more releases lined up in the coming months, much to our delight. With a sublime supporting cast, strap in for a punchy pair of tracks that will ignite their 2021 schedule. 

On ‘Haunted (feat. Oktae)’ the pair team up with frequent collaborator Oktae. Her calming, relaxed tone and conversational writing style bring a very inviting element to the track. The duo have cultivated warm sonics and chiming tones to provide a perfect platform for the British vocalist. 

For the B-side ‘Soul On Fire (feat. Askel & Elere)’ they linked up with Finnish family in the form of Askel & Elere. Any self respecting Soulvent fan will undoubtedly be familiar with these newly signed Scandinavians. The resulting track combines emotionally charged lyrics along with a churning, warped bassline and fully fledged breaks. This 4-way international link up delivers an interesting blend of influences and textures, that brings out the best of the full quartet. 

This eerie yet melancholic 2-track match up is available in all good stores from the 19th March 2021.
