Days of Being Wild continues their collaboration with Berlin based French producer Franz Matthews, releasing his first solo EP, the spacey, cosmic “Ostkreuz”.
Half of the duo Languages, whose 1st EP the label released at the end of last year, Franz Matthews explores a very different sound on his first solo effort, all space disco, retro synths and funky guitars out.

PRÈMIÉRE: Franz Matthews - Ostkreuz [Days Of Being Wild]

It’s been two years since Stefan Z last released on this label, but the three tracks he serves up prove the wait has been more than worth it.

The Berlin based Canadian is the boss of the Rhombus label and is a top electronic production talent. He makes his sounds stand out with slick vocals or moving melodic elements, most likely because of his formally trained piano and trumpet playing skills. He’s had support from the likes of Sasha, Solomun and Adriatique, and his label parties in Vancouver were key in developing the city’s underground scene.

The super title track goes first and is a freaky number with spacecraft circling the groove, building tension in the melodic riffs and futurism in the drums. It’s a dramatic track with heavy, lumpy kicks and one to jolt the floor into action.

‘Borni’ is another long and involving tune, this time with more mystery and suspense in the way it builds. The drums get you marching as synths and ghoulish motifs pan about to creepy effect. It’s a real set building track that keeps you on edge.

Lastly, ‘Cipe’ is the toughest of the lot, with stiff hits and withering cosmic chords speaking of an intergalactic war. Underpinned by warm bass, it’s a widescreen cinematic affair with real beauty in the pads that eventually take over the show.

All three tracks here are mini epics that really take you on a trip.

Tuff City Kids bring the heat with their pop disco infused piano led infusion that they have become legendary for over the past years. One might say the remix kings! Inspired by Warm’s final party on the boat at Love International in Croatia.

I:Cube, the french master steps in with his unmissable production levels and will be sure to make any dance floor turn into a hysteria of heads down and wiggling hips. Haunting vocals sweeping over a groove like no other with the kick to add some added spice.

Finally newcomer Elliott Lion steps up with his own slow burning acidified disco audio gold. Having made waves with his recent debut on Cin Cin he now steps up with his own twist which is sure to solidify the buzz on this newcomer.

Since launching in 2015, Fort Romeau and Ali Tillet's Cin Cin label has been steadily circulating a diverse palet of high quality material. Weaponed with their split EP format, the record label serves up its latest outing, featuring Hivern Discs mainstay Pional and the Brazilian 'man on a mission' Davis. Taking care of the record's B-side, Davis comes correct after a slew of releases on Live At Robert Johnson and Endless. Spiralling marimbas and 80’s synthwave aesthetics dominate our pick of the bunch "Clone Heart" as the TR-707 led rhythm packs a punch. Guaranteed hands-in-the-air material across the board!
