Tresor Records remains one of the most pivotal and definitive labels and nightclubs in underground dance and electronic music. For years it has helped to cement the sound of Electro and Techno representing some of the most unique and innovative artists from across the spectrum of the genre.

Now what better way to celebrate and spotlight the label than by asking two of its latest signings to select their favourite releases from what is an expansive collection of music.

Jensen Interceptor and DeFeKT are two artists who know more than a thing or two about techno and electro themselves – unique and well established in their own right, they have just collaborated to release a new record via the Berlin label.

Together they have recorded an exclusive back to back mix which features music from the likes of Drexciya, The Advent, Joey Beltram, K-Hand, Dj Stingray and Jeff Mills.

With a name taken from a Danh Vo sculpture and a youth spent between the hills of Catalonia and Barcelona’s nightlife, oma totem (@omatotem) makes music that moves both the mind and the body. He started out seven years ago as a member of the local collective Draft and quickly became a resident DJ at Barcelona’s Nitsa club.In recent years, he has increasingly focused on live performance and production, refining a hardware setup that allows him to play anytime, anywhere. As a DJ, he has also evolved, incorporating a more direct, rave-influenced energy into his sets while staying true to his love of meditative bassweight and hypnotic percussion.Beyond performing, producing, and DJing, oma totem is Ignasi Sadurní Viñas—label manager and collaborator at John Talabot’s renowned Hivern Discs imprint. His highlights include peak-time club sets at Primavera Sound (for Boiler Room) and Opera Festival in Sicily, as well as left-field downtempo sessions at Mostra Festival and Ormside Projects in London. His releases have been featured on compilations by Kalahari Oyster Cult, a label many of us know well. Plus, he’s made multiple radio appearances on Noods, EOS, Rinse FM, and more.

For the 10th edition of our FUSE series we bring you an exclusive DJ set from CPSmith, founder of Central Processing Unit, one of the most respected and prolific record labels in the world of Electronic Music.

Central Processing Unit, commonly referred to as CPU Records, is an independent British record label, founded in Sheffield in 2012, specialising in various forms of Electronic Music. CPSmith (Chris Smith) is the man responsible for it’s existence. A respected player in the Sheffield scene since the early days of Warp Records, Chris, heavily influenced by the Electro, Techno, early House and Bleep sounds from this era, has notoriously carried forward the legacy of a city that deserves huge credit for it’s contribution to the UK scene, and thus the country's reputation as being one of the pivotal hubs of the World.

We were honoured to collaborate with Chris and CPU for an unforgettable event at FOLD in November 2019. Chris formed part of one of our biggest ever lineups which featured The Advent and E.R.P. aka Convextion, along with front-line CPU and Natural Selection artists, including Plant43, 96 Back, Annie Hall, Kodah and Osc Kins.

Chris’ mix could be described as a history lesson in quality electronic music, but streaked with modern, advanced productions from his label and closely relevant artists.
