There are several reasons to release an unscheduled podcast today. Below we will explain each of them in detail — get ready to read a lot.

Firstly, today is 9.09, that is, the day of the Roland TR-909 drum machine. We won’t talk about how this piece of hardware influenced all electronic music, since this is a separate and very broad topic.

Secondly, we had at our disposal a conceptual hardcore techno mix from Kovyazin D, pieced together by him over a few months. Rips of old vinyl and rare finds from dusty hard drives subjected to forced remastering were used. By the way, this musical genre existed for only a couple of years in the early 90s, and having performed the role of a bridge from the new beat to gabber, it disappeared into oblivion. The conclusion is simple: there is very little such material in general, which makes this record especially interesting and valuable. Во-первых, сегодня 9.09, то есть день драм-машинки Roland TR-909. Рассказывать о том, как данная «железка» повлияла на всю электронную музыку не будем, так как это отдельная и очень обширная тема

Во-вторых, в нашем распоряжении оказался концептуальный хардкор-техно микс от Kovyazin D, по крупицам собранный им за несколько месяцев. В ход пошли рипы старого винила и редкие подвергнутые вынужденному ремастерингу находки с пыльных жестких дисков. Кстати говоря, этот музыкальный жанр просуществовал всего пару лет в начале 90-х, и выполнив роль мостика от нью-бита а габбе, исчез в небытие. Вывод простой: подобного материала в целом очень мало, что делает эту запись особенно интересной и ценной. Кроме того, вышеупомянутая машинка TR-909 особенно репрезентативна именно в этом жанре музыки — эту бочку ни с чем не спутать
