Artist bio @samisameer

Qatarí-colombiano, Sami Sameer se crió en Mascate, donde estudió percusión orquestal y jazz. Su relación con la música se vio alimentada por la necesidad constante de su cerebro de sonidos estimulantes, y albergó una obsesión por los ritmos impredecibles y el espíritu caótico de la música que estudiaba y referenciaba. En la actualidad reside en Barcelona y, tras conocer la vibrante escena underground de la ciudad, comenzó a pinchar como forma de compartir su amor por el sonido.

Con apariciones en proyectos locales como Dos Dos Radio, Jokkoo Collective y Zilzal Platform, sus sets son conocidos por sus texturas abrasivas e industriales, que atraviesan géneros como el deconstructed club, noise, dubstep, breaks y ambient, al tiempo que se inspiran en sus raíces y su formación musical.

In the depths of the soul, the fire of feminine rage blazes, a tempest of passion echoes through the ages.

For the first recording of our residency, xenial co-founder @victoirevital selects 30 minutes of dubstep and grime, as a nod to flinta rage, reverberating through each melodie. 

To represent the power of these emotions, we were drawn to Marseille-based artist Julia Bonich’s fantastical visuals for the cursed princess 👑 

The set was originally recorded on Cashmere Radio, as part of the xenial takeover on March 23rd, 2024.

Scorpio Red is pleased to announce the release of Zeynep Ağcabay’s second EP, out on the 7th June 2024.

The Turkish born, London based artist’s 4-track release ‘Memories from the Future’ re-frames memory as a non-linear plane of time: visions and sounds collected from “memories” that are yet to occur but feel already lived. An effort to merge her self-titled spiritual folk project with her former ambient pop moniker mea0u, ‘Memories From The Future’ evokes a cyclical, nostalgic and trippy dream sequence. Distorted vocals, a nod to heavy exposure to Western pop influences, meet with samples of Turkish Ney flute and percussion reminiscent of "home".

"Este programa tiene como eje central el imaginario de la montaña, y qué mejor manera que construyendo un imaginario colectivo que desquebraje toda cima y todo valle. Cada invitadx a este programa tendrá su visión sonora de estas montañas bajo la misma primicia: ¿Como te imaginas cruzando la montaña?

Estas montañas no todas son de roca, no todas son tangibles, no todas se suben. Son montañas que apilan un pálpito distinto para cada participante. Que diverso, que mágico."

El set que prepare es una sesión de improvisación en formato Live en el cual los primeros 45 min son de material original, a excepción de algunos samples que fueron utilizados en algunas transiciones. Grabado en mi estudio casero, con Ableton Live, rekordbox, un teclado midi, un push, y un Roland sp404. El recorrido de montañas que imaginé es de carácter místico y de contemplación hacia el exterior e interior.

2. Segunda hora por @alinalabour:
Híbrido entre paisaje sonoro y mixtape, para esos momentos en donde queremos recordar los sonidos y sensaciones de nuestras memorias.
