Started off on the Beatstep Pro, tracked and enhanced in Ableton Live.
Guitars tracked through my Mesa Boogie Express Plus 5/25 and Captor-X.
Clean tracks were the G&L S-500.
Leads were done on my Italia Maranello Semitone.

Rear View Mirror

A somewhat meditative track built on my modular synth setup.  At a certain point, mildly threatening elements intrude.  Fortunately nothing really bad happens.

Foggy Reef

How much fun can a person have with 5 notes?  Let's just find out.

A 1-chord jam.  These are very handy when I just want to have fun playing, since it's pretty difficult to spontaneously get together with other people to do that.

Space Disco?  I don't know, as usual.  I must secretly love disco because every few years something like this pops out.

Original idea was done using a Beatstep Pro, then recorded into Ableton Live with the "Selector" drum kit (it sounds fairly grungy).

The Disco At The End Of The Universe

So I traded in a bunch of unused stuff at Starving Musician and bought a cheap 5 string bass.  This was so exciting I had to write a new tune using it.  

I decided it would be fun to use all 4 of my basses.  So I recorded 8 sections, 2 each with each bass.  The drum patterns were more or less selected at random (XLN Addictive Drummer) as were the riffs.  I did not consciously attempt to stay in one key.  Then I tried to assemble the sections into an order that sounded like it might almost make sense.  Well, some of them work, and some of them... ah... LOL.

In any case, this is more or less how my mind works.  I can come up with different ideas that don't go well together pretty easily.  I got sick of it and decided for once to make them go together whether it was meant to be that way or not.

All played through a SansAmp RPM preamp with a Focusrite Composer compressor in the loop.

Summer Of 2020

This is a lost gem of 21 year old Bonnie Raitt singing Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock".  Recorded in March 1971 at the Jabberwocky Club in the basement of the cafeteria at Syracuse University. The gig was recorded by WAER radio but was never released as one of her albums.  Its considered a bootleg and hard to find.  Many current music stars like James Taylor played here because WAER would do the broadcasts "live" to the New York area.
