My entry for Matthew Parker's "Bigger Picture" Remix Contest. My first remix contest ever so I'm really exited. I knew from the beginning I was gonna do a chiptune, but I had no idea how hard it would be. I've been working on this for a long time; mostly because I had no ideas (but they surely came). 
     However, the biggest problem for me was the vocals. I was using the audacity talkbox and I really wanted it to have that vintage/pop-auto tune sound. After days of tweaking and editing, I hope I've accomplished just that. Comment and let me know what you think.

     Here is my long awaited remix of 'Angels We Have Heard on High'. 
It's taken a lot of work and I hope you like it. 
I'm not 100% satisfied, but maybe I can finish it next year. 

    I wanted to take the listener through most of my favorite EDM Genres. 
Orchestral, Trance, Electro, Complextro/Dubstep, Hardstyle, Chiptune, 
UK Hardcore/Hands Up. I hope this is a journey through the story of

Here is my remix of Koreskape's "Alone". I'm really excited about this one cause it's the first time in years I've incorporated guitar back into my EDM tunes. ;D 

I thought a heavier guitar tone was necessary to convey the emotion behind this song and I must say it turned out better than I had hoped.

Koreskape - Alone (Joshua Nichols Remix)

Here it is! My remix for Spade's "Reach for the Sky" Contest.

I'm really excited for this one and I love how it turned out. It's basically an Electro Dubstep (Complextro)song in the middle of a Gunslinger standoff. :D

I had tons of fun experimenting with samples and various environmental effects to artificially generate the scene. 

Spade said to use at least one sample form the original to qualify... I think I literally used all of them. :) They were so good, I just couldn't pass them up and I wanted to make sure it sounded like the original. (I'm sure Spade will be the judge of that)

This is a remix of the classic Christmas Carol "O Come All Ye Faithful". Trancy riffs, Techno beats and hardcore guitar added to the already festive tune makes a great holiday tune for all ages...(not sure about that last part)

Anyway, here it finally is! :D When I realized I had one day left to finish it I scrambled, recording the guitars, vocals and finishing arrangement all in one day... and you can tell. But I think it's easier to brush over the mistakes for the overall Epicness of this sound. 
I really like it and hope to make more of it. Let me know what you think. Like, comment and share. ;D

O Come All Ye Faithful (Joshua Nichols Remix) FREE DOWNLOAD

Here is a very different sounding song from me. I set out to collaborate with a friend but all this music came to me so quickly that I ended up taking over and doing all the work (with exception for one little sound blip in the drop, for that I thank you Reserction). 

But I found such a sense of joy when listening to it. I didn't know what it was until later, but it is in fact what it was. So I named it so, after C.S. Lewis' Fantastic book. 

     "...but I was instantly uplifted into huge regions of northern sky, I desired with almost sickening intensity something never to be described..."

This thing called joy, is what we live for and what causes us to live. It is not happiness, it is greater, for it is stronger; it is desire. Desire for something far off, behind and yet soon to be obtained. And every time it comes to us, it is a surprise, a beautiful and perfect delight.

Surprised By Joy (Original Mix)

This song is called "Memory" because, to me, it evokes that feeling of 'longing' that is memory: the longing for some sweet moment of joy felt in the past. But memory has a price and that is 'sorrow': both sorrow itself and that which the memory brings because of the distance from it. 

But I can find comfort in that sorrow because joy is complete in the memory of it, and pleasure full grown when remembered. And though, as time moves on, we forget those moments; though we swore we never would, nevertheless they have made us who we are. That is why memory is so beautiful.

I feel that this song's musical movement reflects all of that, I hope you agree. :)

I have been sitting on for well over a year. I just never could finish it for some reason though I loved everything about it. Recently  decided to force myself to 'finish' it; just to say it is done.
