The collaboration of Austrian Producer/DJ Megablast and Cuban Singer/Percussionist Eribertho Cruz started back in 2019 releasing the summer hit „Vamos“, including the stunning remix by Pulsinger & Irl (among others), which is played around the world by headliners such as Solomun, Dixon, Seth Troxler, Adam Port and Butch to name a few. Their second production „La Isla“ features Flip Philipp of the famous Vienna Symphony Orchestra playing the marimba. I am so happy to share my first-ever single, Heavenly Body, a love letter to my younger self.

After writing this song last winter, I have made many attempts to connect it to an EP or album. I now realise that this song deserves its own spotlight to allow it to breathe and be properly understood.

I’ve spent most of my adult life unravelling how trauma has shaped my self-worth and happiness. When I try to reflect on this journey, I struggle to remember the details. My mind has blurred or erased many of these details to protect me from further harm, an experience I know many others who live with PTSD will understand.

I wrote this song to light my path home; it connects me to my journey to self-acceptance and self-love. Music has connected me to everything I love in life, and this song is the closest I have ever come to explaining that feeling.

Heavenly Body is a love letter to my queer, trans, and gender-diverse friends and community. Our shared experience of self-discovery connects us in such a beautiful way. The bond we share, born of wanting more and choosing life, is irreplaceable. This bond inspires my musical journey more than anything else.

The guided meditation / ASMR vocal in this song comes from the video "ASMR for Queer & Trans Students" published by The ASMR Prince on YouTube in October 2019. This video is a perfect microcosm of the love and support that the young queer and trans generation shares, a love that many of us struggled to find in our youth. I am incredibly grateful to the creator of this video for permitting me to use their work to tell this story.
