As vibrant and colourful as the leafy suburb it was named after, ‘Belgrave’ dances between anthemic and intimate. The greatly anticipated debut single from indie-rock band, Wasteman, is an energetic folk-punk singalong with plenty of heart. There’s only about three chords in the whole song and you can learn all the hooks in one listen, but I think we still managed to pack enough surprises in.

The Melbourne based group show their heart in each song, allowing even the more somber songs to be just as fun and cathartic as the party ones. 

Lyrics parkour jump from themes of mental health and hedonism to board games and gardening. Nothing seems too trivial nor too profound in the mind of a wasteman.
