Anyone who knows me knows my soft spot for the 80's. That era produced some of the best culture we have today in film, music, literature and maybe most important SOUNDTRACKS. This is non-debatable. Sorry! So when I asked Mr talented aka Storken to make a mix for us and he then two days later delivered this 90 min golden gem that sounds like a dancefloor version of a Bengt Palmers soundtrack. Then you know I'm 100% hooked! 

Storken apparently made this mix simultaneously while drinking his morning coffee. Really makes sense and I can see it being done. Storken dressed in a white robe, morning hair and sunglasses on with coffee in one hand and the other one doing the mixing. Yeah... i can see it and this is truly the vibe i get from him. It is also the vibe I get from this mix. Full of high energy dance floor bangers that takes you straight to synthesizer heaven mixed with some amazing classic house and disco. It is the ultimate hakuna matata mix made for only one purpose, to make you happy and get you into all out summer mode. I urge you to really listen to this mix from beginning to end because it has hidden gems everywhere and the last ten minutes is just so soo good. I adore it. Thank you Thomas!

Ohh, one last thing and I leave you with this. If Bengt Palmers and Todd Terje had a love baby, Storken would be it! Agree or disagree? Doesn't matter. This too is non-debatable. Sorry!

While this year's Burn was a relentless and unforgiving one, as expected, there were a few divine moments of truth worthy of bearing the Soulestial standards for serendipitous spontaneity that we always seek to find. One of the greatest experiences for us this year, was in the almost instant integration of our new friend from across the pond, Greg Pidcock, into our collective family. The man is a workhorse, a comedian, a gentleman, and an artist - all helically wrapped up into one well packaged gem of a human being. 

If we had known Greg prior to arrival, he would've already been on our big Wednesday night lineup. But instead, thankfully, like the Burn often does, it gifted us a circumstance where he could play with the crew on another day. Shamiran graciously gifted her time slot at the Soulestial Takeover of the Bubble Lounge to Greg and magic was instantly made! 

With the end of the dragon tail in sight already on Saturday afternoon, it was a playa blessing to descend upon our friends' camp with Greg in tow. His booty-shaking housified set united two camps worth of people and served as a beacon for passers-by mid-dust storm to join the perfectly planned chaos within the Bubble Lounge tent. Thank you Greg! We can't wait to do it again, brother!
