Dutch DJ and producer Mason steps up to the turntables for the first in the new Weekend Warm Up DJ Mix series from WATTSHOT.

Mason is an artist who has made a point of ignoring the inherent trendiness of the dance scene over the last two decades. Known for his genre-bending style his music spans house, discos, 80’s sex jams, indie-tinged house, and more, all sprinkled with a touch of funk and soul.

Mason’s 20 year career has been full of highs, from his days as Tiesto's violinist to having a worldwide smash hit with ‘Perfect Exceeder' (now back in the UK top 40 after appearing on the Saltburn film soundtrack), to working with the likes of Roisin Murphy and curating soundtracks for Hugo Boss and Dior.

Kevin McKay, DJ, producer, and founder of Glasgow Underground - one of the longest running and most influential house music labels out there - steps up to the WATTSHOT turntables for the second in the WATTSHOT Weekend Warm Up series!

Kevin McKay has been a mainstay in the underground since the early nineties and on many different fronts. From recording with Omid 16B as Sixteen Souls and creating the Sir Henry’s anthem, ‘On My Mind’, to discovering and co-producing Mylo’s seminal album, ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’, he’s earned his place in the house music hall of fame. Throughout he has spearheaded the Glasgow Underground imprint where he continues to break a wealth of new talent and showcase legends of the scene. All this while serving up masterclass DJ sets around the world and at various  residencies in London.

Jonathan Ulysses has a career that spans over 30 years with his renowned 17-year residency at 'Space Ibiza' as well as some of the best clubs in the world including Green Valley and The Edge in Brazil, Pacha Ibiza, Club Space in Miami, Ministry Of Sound in London, Amnesia Ibiza, Zero Gravity in Dubai and many more.

Jonathan has been nominated as Ibiza’s best DJ in DJ Mag, made guest appearances on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 Show, and carved out a reputation as a quality house music producer, with releases on labels like Toolroom, Nervous, Azuli, Housesession, Jango, Se-Lek Music, Hotfingers and Zulu Records, underlining his status.

As well as running his own label ‘Ulybug Music’ and his own successful night in Stoke On Trent called ‘Ibiza Hive’ at Basement Club, he presents his own radio show 'The Ulybug Show' on Release Radio reaching big numbers across London, the Southern Counties, the North West and across the globe on DAB.

Jonathan Ulysses - WATTSHOT Weekend Warm Up Mix #005

WATTSHOT welcomes the seminal UK rave act Shades Of Rhythm to the Weekend Warm Up mix series.

Individually known as Rayan Gee, Nick Slater and Lanx, Shades Of Rhythm are a cornerstone of the UK rave scene since 1989. Their catalogue of tunes from ‘Sweet Sensation’ to ‘Sound of Eden’ were a mainstay at such pivotal raves and clubs of the golden era as Raindance, Fantazia, and The Haçienda. As they took hold of this emerging scene and landed a deal record with Warner imprint, ZTT, things went stratospheric as they became the subject of every magazine, TV show and clubber’s conversation across the world.

Fast-forward to today and Shades are still very much at the top of their game headlining bills on the old skool circuit and performing at vital festivals, Glastonbury, Boomtown Fair and Tranzmission. 

This is a massive instalment for the WATTSHOT Weekend Warm Up. Grab a glass, pour a shot and get ready to dance.

Episode 7 of the WATTSHOT Weekend Warm Up brings together a trio currently making big waves in electronic music. 

Adam Griffin co-founded Perfect Havoc, the label that broke superstar DJ/producer Joel Corry and lists achievements including 10 billion global streams, six UK Top 20 singles and multiple platinum, gold, and silver awards. A proven A&R, Adam is a successful producer in his own right with 25 million streams on original productions with the likes of Todd Terry, Tobtok and Anton Powers. 

Also lining up is Damon Hess, one-half of P.O.U whose progressive sound has been championed by Tale Of Us / Afterlife, Anjunabeats and Purified Records. Damon has also appeared solo on Dirty Bird, Undr the Radr and 303Lovers, and is one of Ibiza’s busiest DJs, regularly rocking it at Eden, O Beach, Amnesia, and Itaca Beach Club.    

Joining them is Scott Forshaw the fast-rising DJ and producer known for his longstanding residencies in Dubai including Barasti, and Zero Gravity - Dubai’s largest beach club since 2016. His Middle East reputation has seen him nominated for five high-profile awards from Time Out and What’s On, winning two. An accomplished producer, he's hit over 10 million streams on his festival-sized productions on heavyweights like Armada, Ultra and Toolroom.
