These audio demos show our American Zither in a number of different contexts. "Meditation" demonstrates its ability to play bent pitches in a solo setting, where "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" (Francisco Tarrega - 1852 – 1909) features two zithers (one playing double-strung accompaniment, one play single-strung melody) in duet. Alan Blattberg's (http://alanb.org/) "Moon Lies Black Upon the Straits", is a virtuosic tour-de-force of the instrument's tremolo features. Alan also composed "Dark Matter I", as an example of how the American Zither can be used with free plug in effects to create otherworldly swells and pads.
