In 1993 I got my first DJ residency at the now legendary Club Labrynth at the 4 Aces Club in Dalston Lane, playing Friday and Saturday in the Progressive House basement. at the time it was my entire world.

Ever since I discovered House music as a teenager, I was drawn to the edgier sounds rather than the more commercial and popular tracks. I like music that affects my brain and reaches deeper.

I love Afro as it reminds me and gives me the exact same 'feels' that early progressive house did. It makes all my hairs stand on end.

These are some of my favourite tracks right now. Some old, some just released. 

if you like this, you're likely to love Kinky Malinki. I, along with Paul, started it in'98, so I was influential in programming the music, and for years, we had a harder room alongside a more funky room. I always played the harder room, which was more 'my thing'. 

In March, we had the London comeback 25th Anniversary party and it was one of the best nights I've had in 10 years. The DJ's were amazing, some originals from my time and some new.  

We've got part 2 in November, and I have a strong gut feeling it's going to be even better. It's as if Kinky Malinki didn't have a break at all. The crowd was as amazing as the DJ's were.
