I uploaded the first hour of the opening set I played for @voxnoxberlin earlier this year. The recording starts with some ambient because this was the time the club actually opened and as soon as there were people on the dance floor I brought in some beat. To be honest, it was not the easiest job for me to maintain a more laid-back pace yet an interesting tension throughout the whole set, in the genre of harder techno the temptation is far too big to just shoot out one banger after the other. But still, the job of the opening DJ is to open the night and to leave space for things yet to come, it made me realize how much fun that can be as well. Somehow it means to limit yourself, yet there are suddenly much more possibilities to experiment! You can explore more deeper sides of your genre, let everything flow into each other way longer, weave a dense web of textures, play with dynamics in different ways than just up, up, up. This set was a really interesting experience for me, where I felt i was growing as a DJ, so I decided to share that with you. Sadly, the battery of my recording device died at some point, so the rest of the 3-hour long set will only continue to exist in memory. Cheers!

Billie Jo is an artist on the rise that has made a big splash in the Swedish underground scene during the last year. Her dark and rhythmic yet playful techno never fails to enchant the crowds and take them on an energetic and pounding musical journey. 

Her first solo release dropped this April on the Stockholm based label Street Life Rhythm. Billie Jo is a member of the underground collective .WAV and resident DJ at Rottweiler in Gothenburg. She was recently awarded an Elly for ”New Female DJ of the Year” at the Elly Underground Awards in Stockholm.

During his time as a DJ and Producer, JANEIN's musical career has been akin to the flight of a spaceship. Be it by running the SEELEN imprint, dismantling one of the stops on his quickly growing tour-schedule or delivering relentless, trance-tinged techno cuts with a clear nod to pulpy 80’s science fiction. His selection in one of his DJ-sets also shows a particular sensibility to what makes Rave culture, with a unique take on techno spanning modern chugger’s to old school EBM anthems.

Berlin-based DJ and label head @philipp-drube has been pulling inspiration from his own dancefloor experiences ever since he first shaped his own vision of DJing. Focusing primarily on Hard Dance music, he moves between trance, techno and hardcore – a feat which has earned him appearances at Berlin’s most established venues,  including Griessmuehle and Säule of Berghain / Panorama Bar.

As the co-founder of his own imprint @space-trax, Philipp’s curatorial output has already included Hector Oaks and Inhalt der Nacht, despite only launching in 2019.
