This was a fun piece to remix. I wanted to mix something that was minor and major and really shouldn't flow together theory wise. My friend Nyquist sent my the stems for his fantastic dark bass track, Great Lake, and my other fiend Tm NOVAK sent me some beautiful ambient soundscapes created on his track, Lapsteel. What glued everything together were field recordings I received from my friend Yosinobu Mukai; nature and various city sounds he recorded around his home. I added some of my own melodies but really enjoyed the main theme from Nyquist's piece, so the title stayed the same to pay homage to the original. Quite a fun journey remixing these pieces and I hope you check out the originals as well!
