The Choice EP sees the return of Genic to Dispatch for a 4 track release aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Made to suit their own style of DJing, each tune is tailor-made for the kind of rolling blends that allow for creative mixing. Strongly techno-influenced, the whole EP is packed with the deep funky basslines that fans of Genic will be familiar with.

‘Chonka’ was a firm favourite of Ant TC1 and featured as his opening/closing track at many of his last U.K. tour. Black Barrel has since asked to do his own remix of this one, a sure-fire seal of approval.

Title track ‘Choice’ builds and twists through looping vocal edits and rolling bass, ‘Inspo’ features a serious acid synth line and driving percussion and ‘We Reckon’ develops into a weighty stomper from another distorted a looping vocal sample.

A welcome return to the label, watch this space for a further run of music from the duo across 2022 and beyond.

To mark an end of an era I thought i'd give away a track that was written in my studio I'm currently packing down.

So today is the day I say goodbye to my studio room. Although this isn’t the best looking or acoustically treated room, it’s served me well as a little studio for the past 13 years. I’ve written everything from Blue Eyes, Marka, Imperial, Chain Reaction to my debut LP Enjoy This Trip, right up to the music I’m releasing today in here. It’s seen collaborations with legends, seen me in good and bad moods so as you can imagine I’m feeling pretty emotional having to say goodbye today. I’ve made some amazing memories in here.
I just wanted to thank everyone whose supported my music throughout my career so far as this is the room it’s all been written in.
As a little leaving present I though it would be nice to give a tune away for free as a little thank you to you all for the continued support. The track I’ve decided to give away is ‘8am to 1am’ as I remember it being a great session and that’s literally the time it took me to write it. You can download via my bandcamp. Ash x
