Where Do We Go?

Written in late March on a Wednesday, recorded on Thursday, vocal on Friday and a month laboring over string arrangements and mixing. When I was working on the strings, Geographe Bay helped me to focus. In my teens, in Busselton on holidays and discovering contemporary music. Sunsets at the beachside eating fish and chips. Thank you Rob Ellis for the empathetic bass track, and he'll let me know soon if I included the one he liked.

Mr.Peter Pencil, which is well known for his blue suit and lizard pin, vanished during a business trip somewhere in Italy. His mistress Penny Pen was desperate and called the police to investigate. Young Inspector Looso was assigned to this case by his boss hoping this investigation would sharpen his skills. Looso took charge of this case as if he was one of the Raiders of the lost Pencil. Will young Inspector Looso be able to find Mr.Pencil. Let’s hope Mr.Pencil was not violently erased from the surface of the earth?

An early Christmas present in my stocking!
Recently I awoke to a SC link in my mailbox.  What is this??!! To my utter delight, Oddrun, Arne & Peter surprised me with this wonderful musical gift.  The original piano track was to be a "someday" project between Oddrun and me, but this is triple the fun!  Thank you Oddrun, Arne and Peter not only for remodeling my orphan track, but more importantly for this wonderful gift of friendship.

This is an old Jerry Jeff Walker song from a live album that Josh's dad played countless times while driving around in his his old pickup truck while he was growing up. Josh decided this year's musical gift to his father would be a recording of this song, which his dad has always loved. When he asked his bandmates in the Eclectic Collective to help him with it, they all generously and enthusiastically agreed to do so.

  Josh began the song by laying down the piano you hear throughout. He then added the bass before asking Ken to lay down the drums. Ken learned the song very quickly, and added perfect drums to it. Stephen then added his solid foundational guitar. Then, Josh went back in and added the mandolin before singing the whole thing. Before it was done, however, Josh tapped JJ to add the piano solo after the first chorus, which he did with grand style and flourish.

  Once it was in the can, Stephen was kind enough to mix and master it in his always professional manner. 

  Josh is very grateful to his bandmates for helping him give the gift of music to his dad once again this year. His dad has alwasy supported him with his music, from the time he was a little kid, and is very proud of his musical skills to this day. We hope you enjoy listening to this
