This song is about Suicide.

I wrote and recorded it in under 2 hours so it's a little rough but I wanted to share it anyway.  

I've known so many people who have decided to take a different path than this life. Some very close to my heart, others not as much. It still has a profound effect upon me to see or hear the manner in which they passed.
I've known many who have come close to the heavy decision and managed to steer themselves clear to continue living. 
Everything needs it's balance and it can be devastating when mental health falls out of kilter.  

After hearing another good person choosing to leave, I found myself approaching the subject through song. Previously, I couldn't have faced it without breaking down myself.
No one is immune from travelling to a darkness they feel they can't escape in this body. Many of you will know exactly what I mean, the luckier ones won't understand yet and may never understand.  

Everyone has the tools to survive if they want but, sometimes it's hard to find them. If you see someone is struggling and you can offer a hand, then you might just save someones life.

There are a few people who made sure I stayed and began to enjoy the world again after a difficult period of existence. I hope they know who they are and that I'm enterally grateful. 

I also found myself turn to God. Even though I'm not religious I felt myself taken under his wing. It was a massive relief and I hope this song might remind whoever listens that you don't have to be alone with whatever it is you're going through.

Songwriter, guitarist, singer and producer. I have written, recorded and performed live with a variety of projects including the Indian Postal Service, Handbrake Shirley, Scrogan's Run, Mission to the Watchers, The Hey Down Treaders, Foragers and most recently Bossyking and Ghostfield- as well as writing and performing solo material. I thrive within collaboration and I am lucky enough to have worked alongside a very talented group of musicians in the local independent music scene. 
My musical influences are diverse and include Bob Dylan, Sylvan Esso, Alt-J, Talking Heads, Jon Hopkins, Nils Frahm, Devendra Banhart, Betty Harris, Jeffery Lewis, Grace Jones, Captain Beefheart, Lou Reed, Betty Davis, Nick Cave,Everything Everything, Sam Robinson, JJ Cale, Gil Scott-Heron, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Jack Kerouac, Patrick Kavanagh, Woodie Guthrie and dancing badly to classic disco.
