Like all the best groups they started out as a gang and when Wez Gill, formerly of The Electric Press (2020 vision), got on board six months ago their sonic landscapes took a new direction that morphed into an intriguing hybrid of rock and roll and dance that marries guitar music with house rhythms.
Wayside, like the best dance music, are vibey, strong but upbeat. It's a melting pot that is pinned together by an intuitive rhythm section, with bassist James Maloney and drummer brother Ash living proof that not all musical siblings are destined to end sparring. 
Few leave a Wayside gig without commenting on James’ playing; his deep  throbbing bass as important to the band's sound as Mani's was to the Roses, while guitarist Ian Amos provides the type of virtuoso riffs that pricked Morrissey's ears when first hearing Mr Marr.
Combining a lyrical dexterity with a live sound that is testimony to too many hours in the practise room, Wayside are primed to wake up a guitar scene that has been running on empty for too long.
