This is a super random song I wrote/recorded in about an hour in my room at midnight. Enjoy! 

Spaces Shared

In the first part, it's all about sequence. Sixteen 1-second guitar samples arranged into four different melodies, mostly unadorned with extras. Then, somewhere in the middle it changes from being about sequence to being about overlapping. All the guitar parts happen at the same time, are no longer samples but are actual sloppy guitar playing.

The main thing that made me stop caring about "songwriting" was that I liked having tons of sounds and melodies overlapping each other. There were always microscopic moments with overtones or harmonies that seemed to appear by magic. Those tiny moments in songs were more fun to make than trying to find novel ways of writing verses and choruses.  It didn't matter if the piece of music "went" anywhere...it just mattered that all the sounds passed by each other in cool ways I never even planned. This recording has a song structure in the beginning, but by the end it turns into an exercise for 4 overdubbed guitars.

West Montgomery

My buddy Kyle Flanagan from Navi gave me some old drums and cymbals this week, and I set them up in my room. I set out to record a track to back a video Nick Reems was making, but I got too into it and made this song. I'm going to treat this song as the "sneak peek" for my upcoming release for Tigerlamp in late May or early June. 

Nobody is Anymore

This is a song I wrote/recorded a while ago. The drums and whatnot are kinda sloppy because I planned on rerecording everything, but never really got around to it..and don't really remember some of it. WOOPS!
