Originally stemmed from a band called A Day in a Dream (2004 – 2005) with the originating members: Jose Guerrero (Drummer), Frank Vasquez (Guitarist), “Sweet” Lou (Bassist), and JC (Singer/Screamer). 

The drummer, Jose G., left A Day in a Dream to join another band called The Early Strike, where Jose met Kevin Robles (Bassist), a core member of what ended being When Breaks the Dawn. Joining The Early Strike was a brief intermission for Jose, only to rejoin the band A Day in a Dream, which was renamed to When Breaks the Dawn (2006), named by Lou, to emphasis reunion and rebirth of the old group. Kevin R. (bassist) was brought in as the rhythm guitarist. When Lou announced he would be leaving for the Armed Services, a High School friend of Frank and Jose named Robbie, was brought onboard to fill Lou’s place in the band as a bassist. JC parted ways shortly after leaving only Jose, Frank, Robbie, and Kevin.

The band was now missing integral parts, essential to the creation of this type of music, a singer/screamer, called for Kevin to introduced Scott Kindla (Singer/Screamer) to the mix, birthing the core members of When Breaks the Dawn. There was disagreement among the members and their bassist, Robbie, was let go from the band which put the group in search of a new member. At this time, Scott K. stepped in as temporary bassist while they found a member to fill the gap. In 2008, Jose G. brought in a his relative (cousin), Jesus Guerrero (Guitarist) to try out and see if it would be a good fit. After several weeks of attending practice, 2 songs were made back-to-back which demonstrated the “new” direction of the band after finding the last and final addition to what was When Breaks the Dawn (2008-2010).
