This song was written in the fall of 1982 after spending a two week silent retreat at a Carmelite Hermitage in the backwoods of Digby County, Nova Scotia. Discerning my direction in life, Nature, Elijah's searching for and finding God in the quiet wind or in my case the quiet solitude of the wilderness on a series of lakes and woods.

Cyprian Consiglio, OSB Cam, is a monk, musician, and spiritual teacher. He is a member of the community of New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur, CA. An internationally known performer, recording artist, and composer, he has numerous collections of original sacred, world, and liturgical music to his credit. A student of the worlds spiritual traditions, Consiglio has offered retreats and conferences around the world and authored one book plus numerous articles for several books and periodicals.

Oihi Bay, is the site of the first recorded Christian address in New Zealand. The Chorus is in the Maori language. Karanga is to call and in the Maori tradition this calling is of a spiritual nature usually unto sacred places. The chorus is calling you to listen to the good news. The sound at the beginning is the putatara which is the conch shell, this is also sounded to inform of news and as part of the calling ceremony.

I use to meditate many years ago but I love having Father Main's Christian meditation now.

I studied at the Rythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen - graduated in 1991, and have been performing and teaching since then. 
For 26 years I've been part of a trio called Sophisticated Ladies - www.sophisticatedladies.dk - we work both as a trio and with different soloists.
I perform with other groups as well - both small groups and Big Bands. 
I write music and songs (with Danish lyrics) - and have written a couple of hymns for church also.
I became a catholic in 2007 - and began meditating in 2009 after Laurence Freeman gave a talk in Copenhagen.

Kerry Taylor is the Director of Sacred Music at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Montreal, Quebec and an oblate of the World Community.
This piece, “gathering music” is from an ongoing project using digital samples - a sort of minimalist or process music project.  These pieces aim to lead to silence through the slow, easily perceived unfolding of a process that sets up an opposition between forward movement and non-functional harmony – the balance of competing forces.

Water is a healing place for me. I go there when I am in need of balance and rejuvenation. The song of the waves washes over my soul and takes me to the place where I connect with my source, the divine presence. The words I sing are called 'vocables', intuitive vowel sounds.
