Congratulations to this week's athletes of the week Dahir A. and Kristina G.
Dahir is a grade 10 student on the Jr. Boys Basketball team and is a very valuable player that lead the team to some great wins last week.  Kristina is a grade 9 student on the Jr. Girls Volleyball team. She is a really consistent hitter who always dives for the ball, never letting it touch the ground and is a very valuable rookie player. Great job Dahir and Kristina.

Congratulations to Ms. Campbell's homeroom for donating the most to Holidays are for Helping! Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this holiday season better for our community.

We now have 250 Vikings on our Peace Wall. This peace project was inspired by recent world events and the fact that we have students from all over the world including many refugees who had to flee war. Crossing Borders invites you to be part of the wall to stand in solidarity with these students. Look for a photographer by the peace wall or roaming the halls and share your message of peace. Let's build a wall...of peace!

More than 300 of you have agreed to stand for peace on WCI's Peace Wall. The project began in response to recent terrible aggression in the world. Those, on the wall, stand for peace in their daily lives and in the world. They also stand in solidarity with all our students and staff who continue to be impacted by war. It's a small act, but it is something. If you would like to be on the wall, come to guidance at lunch Wednesday or Thursday. Let's build this wall...of peace!

Hey Vikes! It’s that time of year again… March Madness! Our 3v3 Basketball Tournament will be running from March 9 to 13 at break in the Main Gym. Everyone is welcome! Sign up outside of the gym with a team of 3-4 and get ready for some fun!

ACF's food festival needs your help! Signup to volunteer on the arts board in the student activities hallway. Get a volunteer hour, help out with one of the biggest school events and have fun. Remember to signup outside student activities on the arts board!

Congratulations to all swimmers who came home from OFSAA last night with an overall 7th place ranking in the open girls division. Tori M. won  SILVER MEDALS in her 100 and 200 free and her open relay with Chapman, Katherine and Elle. 
 Ian F. took home 2 medals -- a Bronze and a Silver in his Freestyle events and Thomas, Omar, Hugh and Nathan finished 5th in their relay.  It was an awesome Meet for everyone especially our grads Kelton, Katherine, Hannah, Elizabeth Elina & Bakker

They are number 1.  Who are they?  Keenan G, Alex L, Ethan W, & Thomas I.  On Friday, these four won First Prize in the JRMPC scholarship contest.  They now have $6000.00 ,more for school.
The competition has been on-going, weekly for over a month and was written in an almost dead, obscure language called Smalltalk.  Ask them about it!  A fantastic accomplishment. Congratulations from Ms. Harris, the other 2 teams from WCI, and the Computing Club.  Yeah Vikes.

Yesterday a busload of WCI ELLs went to Eastwood for the second annual WRDSB ESL/ELD English Speech  Competition. Congratulations to the six WCI participants. The following won the WCI speech competition in their category: Fahad S., Shin-you D., Far-doe-sa A., Ali K. and Ab-dul-ma-jid A. All six represented WCI proudly at Eastwood yesterday. And Far-doe-sa A came away a champion in her division. We are so proud of all of you!
