Memory presents Anthemisia. This sample collection is inspired by the high energy anthems of early 2000’s and producers like RSonist and Thrilla of The Heatmakerz, as well as Araabmuzik, who all produced most notably for Dipset.

The samples, true to form, are reminiscent of 70s Prog Rock and Soul, and 80s Pop Rock and Soul. Additionally, each sample includes an optional chorus section to give them that much needed vocal texture you hear on beats from that era. The choruses were written and sung by Memory himself and are also themed in most instances.

Each sample contains a variety of live bass, acoustic and electric guitar, live vocals, and vintage synths. The sounds were processed using a combination of analog gear and digital effects to give them a unique yet nostalgic feel.

Master clearance is guaranteed. All samples are BPM labeled and formatted as 24 bit WAV (compatible with all DAW’S and samplers)

The Sample Lab Presents "Exotic Reflections Volume 4’

Piano-heavy, vintage, luxury style compositions recorded and mixed to give maximum freedom to flip, chop and change into brand new beats and compositions. This pack includes 10 original full length samples and over 80 stem tracks full of live instrumentation (keys, guitar, bass ), 

All music was written by Dreamlife and DJ Pain1 with an all-star cast on the live instruments including Joey. D Keys on the Piano, jazz bassist Alexandre Bile on bass, Memory on guitar.

Master clearance is guaranteed. All samples are key and BPM labeled and formatted as 24-bit WAV (compatible with all DAW’S and samplers).

Exotic Reflections Vol. 4 - Preview (Lo-Fi)

Illusions contains 10 original compositions of dreamy modern synth soul. These samples were created using a combination of modern and vintage synthesizers (Mellotron, Prophet Rev 2, Moog Sub-37, Casio CZ1000, OP-1, Oberheim, CS80) and vintage electric guitars to provide soundscapes that dip into multiple decades and textures of soul.

Each sample was processed through a TEAC Reel-To-Reel tape machine on 1/4" tape, and summed using a Dangerous Music 2BusLT to add an unmatched vintage warmth.

Master clearance is guaranteed. All samples are labelled with BPM and Key, and will be delivered in 24-bit WAVs.

Illusions - Preview (Lo-Fi)

This week, Framing Culture went to Milwaukee to meet Sara Daleiden at the Washington Park Media Center.  
She has been working with artists and other entrepreneurs on network and small business development, as well as artist residencies, creative placemaking and media culture-making, for two decades, under the MKE-LAX project which connect Los Angeles and Milwaukee.

This jam was created for a third grade dance class who had choreographed an elaborate routine to House of Pain's "Jump Around."  They decided that some of the lyrics were inappropriate and approached me with rewriting the song and making it about exercise.  So I rewrote House of Pain's lyrics in the same rhymescheme they were written in without using their words (save for the chorus, which I was going to slip "splunk" for "jump" but thought better of it, lest it hinder the third grade dance mind).  

I have a regular practice of jumping rope on the roof and took this opportunity to rap about it along with other alternative exercise modalities.  

Seth Warren Crow (Formerly of Okkervil River, Antler Antennas) reproduced the beat using live drums to replace the breaks and stylophone to recreate the whine sample.  He also provides chorus backup vox.  

It was a hilarious honor to see the number performed by enthusiastic kids (unfortunately I can't post the video but it involved cartwheels, crabwalking, leapfogging and baseball mimicry) and to work in the everlasting tradition of Irish Hip Hop.  -wctank
