WDRO started as a production team that were originally members of the rap/hip hop group Cesspool. Group members, who were already starting to dabble in production and beat making, formed WDRO as a production team and company. The venture sprouted into a label as well and acts as both, a production company and record label with the first release Grow Operation, an instrumental hip-hop, boom bap, project that sonically metaphors the whole process as a marihuana grow operation.
