Trapdoor & Hillydilly present this week's 3am series courtesy of Daktyl with a sensuous remix of Aquilo's 'You There'.  
The London based artist has been busy of late, launching his new group alias "Shiloh" earlier this month but also finding time to drop releases as Daktyl on DieHigh records, Mad Decent & Run The Trap. Keeping up the consistent work rate, it's no surprise that he's currently on a U.S tour playing in San Francisco, L.A & more. 
The track itself plays out as an elegant composition, finely balancing  vocals with a mellowing backdrop of production. 'You there' acts as a perfect follow up in the 3am series & reminds us there is a lot we haven't heard from the uprising talent named Daktyl.

I wrote this track to try to capture a sort of dramatic feeling. The idea of "Parallel Minds" comes from the idea of two people being on the same page. The vocal aspects of the track come from a current preset that I resampled heavily.

I would say that the theme ultimately suggests that even when 2 like-minded people are far away and not physically close to each other, their mindsets, thoughts, and feelings are still aligned.

Reefer Madness

The second single from Barclay Crenshaw's self titled album is violently haunting and beautiful - inspired by another unexplained diagram from the past. It's hard to decipher the image exactly but blood vessel maps of the human form are drawn with symbols and strands resembling genetic code, like an ancient guide studying our species. Additional imagery suggests an extraterrestrial influence and leaves us with more unanswered questions about the project.
