Kirill Kalashnikov a.k.a. Wyro started making beats back in distant 1999 while he was living in small Siberian city Surgut. Surrounded by snow and cold winter wind he started exploring Fast Tracker audio software and building his unique music style - warm and calm as summer night. His first love was atmospheric jungle and drum&bass and his first tracks were made in this genre but after years of experiments, hundreds of gigs around the world and releases on such respected d&b labels as Med School, Fokuz, Covert Operations, Formation and Blu Saphir he found himself comfortable in the deeper side of Minimal House & Techno. For his production Kirill is using lots of hardware synths, including a modular case that he has built over the last two years. His new tracks are being played by a very wide range of artists - from Guy J and Pleasurekraft to Raresh, Amir Javasoul and iO(Mulen). Apart from producing Wyro is successfully running one of the top electronic music schools in Russia called Tramplin.PRO with branches in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg and a vinyl label Engineer.

Mantic is a Romanian DJ trio composed of Oxy, Andrei Fig, and Cristea. Their journey began with a strong friendship and a shared love for music, particularly evident during their electrifying back-to-back performances that have lit up countless house gatherings. It was amidst this high-energy atmosphere that the concept of the trio was born. With the seamless addition of Cristea, the trio evolved into a tight-knit unit, embarking on a serious and unified musical endeavour. What sets Mantic apart is their ability to blend their individual musical backgrounds and influences into a signature sound that transcends genre boundaries. Their chemistry as artists allows them to continuously push creative boundaries and explore new musical horizons. We even hosted a recent mix of theirs from a session from Brasov in Romania. Izaakson is a well-known figure in underground circles. A native of Holland, he’s best-known as the man behind the Memoria label, an imprint that’s been releasing quality-laden house and techno for some time now. Indeed, Izaakson’s own career is one of longevity, and he’s been involved in electronic music for an impressive twenty years now. 

As you might imagine from a career spanning this long, Izaakson wears many hats, from co-running the aforementioned Memoria to pursuing his solo career and collaborating as one half of IZIL. In this interview, he gave us an insight into his time management techniques, the challenges faced in the music industry, and his commitment to quality in the face of a changing landscape. 

As he reflects on the evolution of electronic music and his contribution to it, Izaakson also shared a live recording from CLUB 100 in Belgium, offering a taste of his distinctive style. Listen to the mix here, and head to the website to read the full interview.

"I think it has something with genetics. I have been drawn to music all my life, although my parents, both musicians, didn’t approve of it when I was a child, because they were afraid it would not bring me material success. For me, music is a light that I want to strive for. I am inspired by the music of other musicians, and create my music based on what I listen to, and hopefully inspire someone else as well. When I play in clubs and people like it there is an exchange of energy happening, my soul is alive at that moment and it’s like a path to something light. It’s spiritual growth in a way and that’s what you want to strive for. It’s a difficult time. Because of the war me and my family had to go abroad, our city was occupied in the first days of the war. My flat and my parents’ house were both destroyed. My family and I had to flee to save our lives. And music is the outlet for my feelings." - @Dibe
