“Thinking Patterns” is a summary of the environment in which I spend my life. 
Most of the sounds come from hard sessions of field recordings and foley recordings, sessions taken place at university, at home, in the woods and in Bari City suburbs. Melancholy is not only a specific mood to me, I consider it as an experience that, at least once in a lifetime, each individual lives deeply. My daily life is merged in a never ending bond with melancholic feels, so combining those feelings with my Techno background, Ambient atmospheres and Trip Hop/Downtempo beats becomes my purpose. “Thinking Patterns” is a mindful song with a dogged groove and an open environment in which sounds perform their best.

A mixture of "dirt" and "clean" creates the music concept behind "Flowers Of Melancholy", in which drones and ethereal voices have the purpose of sustaining the impact of drums and heavy distorted synths. This small music work, made up by two songs, reflexes the experimental music background of the music project Weaknot, the 24 years old guy fascinated by any kind of stuff that can be turned into a meaningful sound. Even if "Hikikomori" and "Haunted Pinewood" have dozens of sounds and process of making in common, the two pieces of music have two different moods. While the first one is much more aggressive and filled with highly processed glitch sounds, the last one appears to be a lot more melodic and dreamy, in order to create a listening experience that spaces from rough tunes to particularly carved ones.

Hikikomori

This song has been made with samples, entirely recorded by Weaknot himself. While been forced at home for a couple of weeks, he recorded Clothespins, shitty-Silverware, Polystyrene Panels and more objects. The result is "Mechanical Dreams", a heavy electronic techno tune with fierce and repetitive synths, sustained by atmospheric textures and noises affected by granular synthesis. As you can see, the track gets inspiration from artists such as Max Cooper, Jon Hopkins, Burial and Aphex Twin.

An initial calm atmosphere turns in a pacific mess while the song ends.
Bass frequencies on the floor and random tools heavy distorted, in order to give sudden cuts to the peaceful environement at the first part of the song. Then, bass frequencies become wide and a massive arp takes the main spot in the groove part, resulting in a messy shoegaze with huge distorted add-ons.

Venus' Kiss

Weaknot, musical project run by Giacomo Lippolis, is an electronic act that finds its basis into highly processed sounds, immersive atmospheres and evolutive melodies.
