Brooklyn-based duo Anden deliver their remix of Genix & JVMIE’s ‘I’m Awake’, out now.

Tom and Pete Cuppernull, aka Anden, first crossed paths with our label in 2019, remixing Fatum, Genix, Jaytech & Judah’s super-collaboration ‘All In’. They’ve gone from strength to strength in recent years, forming a close partnership with Yotto’s Odd One Out label and releasing on Deep State, DIYNAMIC, Katermukke and Eleatic Records. Their debut album ‘Youth Is Wasted on the Young’ landed on Odd One Out in November 2021.

"We’re pleased to return to Anjunabeats to remix our good friend Genix’s record 'I'm Awake'. Our remix is inspired by the sounds of his nostalgic ‘199X’ album, as well as a string of acid techno parties we attended last fall. The result marries JVMIE’s serene vocals with the melodic and acid worlds." - Anden

Genix’s debut album ‘199X’ was released on Anjunabeats in September 2021. It’s a departure from the sound that Damo is best known for: through the late 2000s and 2010s, he caught the ear of Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk with his textured, melodic take on trance. He secured releases on both Armada and Vandit, before arriving on Anjunabeats in 2010.

The 13th edition of Diynamic Music’s prime Various Artist EP series returns. “Four To The Floor” is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world.
Opening the release is electronic music veteran Dubfire with “The End To My Beginning”, a heavily 80s influenced track that, with its erratic horns and sirens, could be the centrepiece of a retrofuturistic movie soundtrack. Following up is the New York native duo Anden, which consists of brothers Tom and Pete Cuppernull, who bring their driving organic electronic soundscapes to Diynamic.
The artist behind track 3, Tom Zeta, is no stranger to Diynamic as he already released a full EP on the label in 2017 and now follows up with yet another contribution to the FTTF Series, his Melodic Techno track “Mirage”. Closing off the record is the very emotional “Rose In Japan” by Italian duo Voon, which just calls for closed eyes and daydreaming on the dancefloor.

The duo's recent growth has been nothing short of extraordinary. After releasing their hit track ‘Void’ on Solomun’s imprint DIYNAMIC, Anden was tapped for remix duties by Diplo and Mark Knight, and fulfilled guest mix duties on BBC Radio 1, Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy, and the legendary Balance Series. 

2021 brought the release of Anden’s debut album, Youth is Wasted on the Young, on Odd One Out, which featured ‘Grouplove’, the brothers’ hit collaboration with Yotto. Anden kicked off 2022 with a 15-city album tour across North America before completing a run of shows in Europe and India. The brothers finished the year with two releases on Odd One Out–a 3-track EP and a co-presented compilation with Yotto–and an official remix for Diplo on Higher Ground. Through consistent growth over the last few years, Anden has solidified their place as one of America’s few highlight melodic techno acts. The brothers have recently signed with Analog Agency for North America representation and are primed for another successful year in 2023.
