Bird of Prey formed in early 2011 outside a pub overlooking the Thames in west London. Having spent the previous summer playing on various projects together and touring Europe and America, the three friends decided to take their unique sound and share it with the rest of London. The result is a sound based as much on classy musicianship and melodic aptitude as it is on solid friendship and understanding.

It is a cultured mix of guitar driven alt rock, 70’s progressive synth and big, hook ridden choruses that will have you compulsively humming. The mix of rock and electronic rhythms deliver a sustained assault on the nodding gland and blend seamlessly with Tim and Jamie’s formidable guitar work. Combined with Dan’s orchestral synth/bass empire, they create a sound that references the Queens of the Stone Age and the Smashing Pumpkins as much as it does Daft Punk and MGMT. 

Lyrically, they are a persuasive force, making perceptive observations on the frailty of human character whilst still being able to craft a chorus that makes everything seem a little bit better. Together, they create something different, and it is this that makes them essential listening.
