Groove Delight - Mental Access (Original Mix)

Portuguese producer 2tan returns to Elements Records with the stunning 'South Of Heaven EP'. His last outing 'Aokigahara' proved popular among the deep and dark fraternity and there can be no doubt we are in for a real treat here again.

Kicking us off is the original mix of '1st Circle' which intros with a darkly theme and sets the mood beautifully for this ride. A deep bass drone encapsulates the sound while all around we have very cool FX the ebb and flow throughout. Just when you think that sub bass will fade out it comes back and keeps hold. A very smooth arrangement on the drums and percussions, quite subtle, nicely padded kicks and basic hat patterns make for a smooth ride. The break releases more of that bass and then suddenly an infectious plucky bass crops up transforming the vibe brilliantly. Awesome stuff!

Next up is the original mix of '6th Circle'. The track comes at us with a tough layered kick and a deep sub bass coming up from below. Brilliantly arranged FX work provide a big focus to the track but this is secondary to the real deep and dark theme running through. A gritty workout ensues and the sound takes leap as a much more prominent bass sound takes over. The break offers up a wall of white noise that rises on its way to the kick back and on the way it picks up a brilliant bass sequence. Top notch stuff yet again!

The original mix of 'Curse Of Apollo' intros with a beautiful bubbling effect on the sound, you get the sense of the sound rising up from the depths. Nice deep vibe running through with plenty of cool FX to keep the ears trained. A hypnotic synth line plays out and becomes a major focus within the track as an ever shifting drum arrangement keeps up a solid rhythm. The bass pulsates from the deep and keeps that dark them alive. The break leads us into a new path as the sound transforms superbly into something unexpected.  The cool vocal samples are a nice addition to this relentless dark groover.

'6th Circle' is given the remix treatment by PH Zero and what a fantastic bit of work it is. The intro sets off with a superb arp that leads us into a full on stomper as chunky kicks and smooth percussions come into play. A deeper bass runs throughout as the arp transforms itself into many shapes. A nice big stab makes a show from time to time and blends well. Super tight arrangements keep the groove solid and on the break we get more of that big stab as it takes us back into the main track, stunning remix that is not to be missed.

'1st Circle' gets a remix from Aqob and takes the track on a very smooth journey. Cool robotic voice intro that leads to a chunky kick with a sweeping string in behind. A truly awesome deep, lush bass runs so smoothly through the sound that you will be forced to get up and dance. Percussions begin to layer in the structure and the rhythms begin to form beautifully into a solid groover. As the track progresses the arrangement becomes intricate with the additional patterns that really give a boost. The break descends into a simple arp and string combo before that beautiful big kick and bass come powering back. A definite must have track for your deeper sets, you will not be disappointed.

With over forty years of globe trotting experience behind the decks and countless releases under their belts, John 00 Fleming and Christopher Lawrence are two of the worlds most respected DJs and producers. Sharing the same passion for the underground, Fleming & Lawrence's live sets have become the stuff of legends.

The duo’s new track, Predator is the follow up to the massive Dark on Fire. Inspired by their experience and integrity behind the decks, Predator represents the deep, dark sound they both champion. It’s just what you would expect from Fleming & Lawrence - an infectious rolling baseline with brilliant acid leads intertwining as the track kicks into high gear.

First up on remix duties is Casey Rasch who turns in a pumping dark psy mix. Frost Raven gives Predator a proper techno makeover that’s sure to satisfy the most discerning purist

John 00 Fleming & Christopher Lawrence - Predator (Frost Raven Tech Mix)

Tony H and Swavé follows up the success "She Moves The World" with a full-scale remix EP on Desert Hearts Records! They have invited some of their favourite artists to do their own interpretations of this energetic tune, and the result is 3 different four-to-the-floor, dance floor oriented tunes. First up, Franklyn Watts moves us smoothly in a housy direction. Catchy drum work meets dreamy vocals and sweeping chords, excellently showcasing the style Franklyn is so loved for. 

Mary Droppinz does what Mary does best. A fierce and driving rework takes the stage, building some proper momentum before deep diving into the breaky groove. Last but not least, Thomas Garcia serves us a bouncing remix with a lot of cheeky attitude. His techy style shines as he creates a soundscape that beautifully works around the elements of the original, blending them with his own, characteristic sounds. This release is an excellent showcase of some of the most exciting artists in the electronic music scene at the moment, each serving their very own sound of "She Moves The World".

Daniel Portman was born and raised in the suburbs of Zurich, Switzerland. He fell in love with electronic music at a very young age: It was the late 90s, with all its ups and downs, when young Daniel started to test his musical abilities on an Akai2000 sampler and an old sequencer.

Mid 2000s his first EP “Backside / Evolution” was released on Unreleased Digital. Followed by the EP “I never sleep”. Tracks came up on labels such as Harem Records, Big & Dirty, Armada, AnjunaDeep or on PinkStar Records next to releases on his homebase label Unreleased Digital.
He’s also known for successful collab productions with Jerome Isma-Ae and Stanley Ross.

Rapidly he gained a big base of fans from all corners of the world, and his agenda got fully booked with DJ gigs on all continents. He made quite a heavy assault on the DJ scene performing on events in front of more than 10’000 people.

Over the years Daniel designed a forward thinking and unique style of house music, which can be described as a mixture of progressive house and techno. But also with an ability to infuse cutting edge machine music with soulful grooves. Therefore his productions regularly fill the top positions of Beatport’s Top 100 chart and are fast becoming staples for DJs everywhere.

Progressive house gurus Roddy Reynaert and Phi Phi return to Bonzai with the sublime two track EP entitled Tempora. This formidable duo have been churning out some serious beats over the last number of years and their last Bonzai Progressive outing - Aokighara - proved popular among many due to its squelching acid appeal and deep progressive grooves. A wealth of experience and creativity was the catalyst for these two striking up a solid partnership which has resulted in several quality cuts. Phi Phi is certainly doing the rounds and spreading his vast knowledge of all things electronic music. He's involved with other collaborations as well as solo works and he remains a much sought after DJ, particularly for retro events. Roddy also thrives as a soloist, his tracks are supported around the world and his unique blend between progressive and house is very much revered. It's always an exciting time when these guys get together and we're sure there'll be much more to come, so stay tuned.

First up we have the gnarly progressive vibes of Tempora which intros with a lush bassy tone consisting of chunky kick drums and a rumbling bassline alongside a superb teasing acid line on the offset. Shuffling hit hats and tight percussions provide a steady rhythmic flow to the track as those basses begin to intensify. The track winds up slowly into a frenzied and electrified groove that will surely have the floors rocking. On the break the synths raise the intensity levels even more before those solid beats return for the duration. Another top notch slice from this unstoppable duo.

Cirao intros with a very nice moving bass that sits under a muted kick drum while various percussions form up to get the rhythm moving. Mesmeric synths rise up and join a series of cool sounds and FX that give the track a lot of depth and texture. The kicks are beefed up to pumping status and the progressive vibes start to ooze out the track. Cascading arpeggios deliver a subtle melodic vein and on the break we're treated to a very nice pad sequence before the track kicks back in to full on mode. Superb stuff that is not to be missed.

History learns people have always seen us as ambassadors of quality electronic music regardless the genres we touch. Over the years music has evolved, so did our musical taste, a combination which is pushing us to think more forward.

In order to focus on what we really want to do and giving artists what they deserve, it's become necessary to discontinue some of our labels. Most of these labels are part of that trance scene which we helped develop in the early 90's. The trance scene of today does not fit our vision, so we will fully focus our 3 remaining trance labels (Subtraxx, Camouflage & Nemesis) on quality progressive trance.

You will wonder now what we really want to focus on, well deep progressive, mini tech, tech house and real progressive house as we have been doing in our own way over the past year on Bonzai Progressive, Bonzai Basiks, ...
