It's been a while since we last saw Hungarian producer and composer Insect Society at Bonzai Basiks, the wait is over as we have the newest cut entitled Made In Sweden, which comes with a top notch remix. And Cleopatra Wept was his last outing which went down a treat and prompted a call up to remix duty for Van Czar's Despote EP. Hopefully much more to come from this talented artist in the future.

The Original Mix intros with a cool robotic voice that trails off into a deep drone that rises up through the sound beautifully as huge punchy kicks are joined by a selection of sharp percussions and top class FX. The bassline is where it's at here, a solid, driving groove becomes the mainstay of the track and blends perfectly with the rising arps. The arps take on a retro theme with acid undertones filtered in and on the break this is complimented by stunning FX that pop up out of nowhere. A truly hypnotic and driving techno groove that will be a most welcome addition in any set.

The OSC 1 Mix takes on most of the Original Mix's flavour, the driving bass groove and pounding beats all remain alongside the robotic voice and wonderful FX. The main difference is in the arps, here they are taken up an octave and weave a slightly different pattern. That retro theme is still in play and gives a nod to the old skool Techno sound. The perfect extension to the original and equally a must have addition to your box.

The Mambo Brothers return to the musical pages of Toolroom with a sun-drenched follow up to their debut release 'Momento', that landed back in 2016. This new offering is titled 'Sundogs' and you can rest assured that clubbers, radio jocks and industry folk alike will all be appreciating this gem.

Happy to announce that Nico Morano is back on Atmosphere Records for another melodic techno EP. After releases on labels like Click Records, Ein2, Karera, … he came back to the label where it all started for him and recently he even started working with us as A&R. So you can expect from here on a nice selection of Nico’s taste in contemporary dance music on Atmosphere Records. 

Throughout the years the sound of Nico Morano has developed into one of the most sophisticated ones in Belgium. His blend of deep, melodic House with a strong emotional touch has been picked up by many others. The Galeras EP translates this trademark style in two emotional, yet dancefloor oriented tracks, a perfect dj tool for the upcoming festival season. 

Galeras, isn’t only a fire bursting mountain in Colombia, it is the title of Nico’s latest EP. Consider the start like magma inside of a volcano, impatiently willing to erupt! This is how the track evolves exactly. Fire from the start with melodic techno rhythm, going steadily towards the break. No mercy there with just pure fire on the drop. Followed by some new melodic elements to make the track solid like a rock! 

Arenal embodies the raw power of one of the most famous volcanoes in Costa Rica,  ready to burst. Starting steadily with a powerful bassline & a mesmerizing arp, the track builds up the tension with a powerful lead, until the break makes the total track erupt completely!

Newcastle born Cristoph returns to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth with three more immersive excursions.

The entire EP is laced with drama, detail, tension and release. ‘The Duel’ smoulders with momentum, unrelenting energy and focus. Building on the distinctive signature Cristoph has developed on the likes of Pryda Presents, Noir, Bedrock, Warung, Suara, it sets the scene for the rest of the EP. 

‘Revolver’ follows with a barbed sense of poignancy as sweeping minor chords characterise the track with heavy emotion. Revolving and rebuilding with fluidity throughout, it’s another piece of precision engineering from Christoph.

Finally we have ‘Tremble’, a rolling cut piqued by rippling arpeggios and a bulbous sub that’s so strong it warms up the entire track. Then the breakdown blasts into one of Cristoph’s most euphoric, feel-heavy moments to date and the rest is history.

History learns people have always seen us as ambassadors of quality electronic music regardless the genres we touch. Over the years music has evolved, so did our musical taste, a combination which is pushing us to think more forward.

In order to focus on what we really want to do and giving artists what they deserve, it's become necessary to discontinue some of our labels. Most of these labels are part of that trance scene which we helped develop in the early 90's. The trance scene of today does not fit our vision, so we will fully focus our 3 remaining trance labels (Subtraxx, Camouflage & Nemesis) on quality progressive trance.

You will wonder now what we really want to focus on, well deep progressive, mini tech, tech house and real progressive house as we have been doing in our own way over the past year on Bonzai Progressive, Bonzai Basiks, ...
