Mark Found - Sagittarius (original Mix) sample

Italian DJ and producer Marco Trovato aka Mark Found debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb 'Sagittarius' and comes with an Original and Dub flavour. Mark started out at a young age, at just 16 he began to DJ at local radio stations where he soon became noticed and was offered many gigs in local clubs. He was playing Acid House and Rap in 1990 and soon his friends were encouraging him to get into the production side of things. His first equipment was of course a set of 1200's and an Amiga computer. He learned all about MIDI and was soon churning out his own brand of Acid music using synths, sequencers and samplers. At this time he was also going all over Italy, taking part in DJ competitions where he showed off his mixing and scratching skills.

First up we have the Original Mix which takes us on a sublime journey into the deeper side of progressive house. The intro gets us on the move with a nice chunky kick and a cool array of FX that create a good portion of the sound. A deep bubbly bass comes through brilliantly as subtle melodic sequences play out in the background. Super tight arrangements on the drums and percussions give off a steady flowing groove while swirling pads will captivate your mind. A definite must have track as you will not want to miss this epic journey.

The Dub Mix goes all out deep and dark progressive with a monster kick on the intro and a truly awesome deep throbbing bass that is a big focus of the sound. Smooth and steady percussion patterns bring rhythms to life as cool synths build a nice melodic structure. Beautifully layered textures create a surreal atmosphere that is almost tangible. Top notch stuff from Mark and not to be missed.

Go Toward The Light sets off in full on mode with a chunky kick and superb pulsating bassline. Beautiful synth pads sweep through the sound and tease out sweet melodic sequences. The bassline is hypnotic as it remains a constant throughout the track and is accompanied by some very cool FX. The break opens up a surreal world with the bass and synths contrasting beautifully. A perfect example of progressive house with that darker edge and no doubt this will grab a lot of attention.

RELEASE DESCRIPTION

The 34th release on Perspectives Digital showcases the winning entries from the label’s first ever remix competition.  Announced in April 2015, the contest gave hopeful producers a chance to remix the imprint’s most critically acclaimed and best-selling track, 'Outliers' by Cid Inc and label boss Darin Epsilon.  The competition was a huge success receiving well over 250 entries from artists all over the world.  Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic vs. Rick Pier O'Neil were announced as the grand prize winners after an arduous judging process, with Subandrio, SummerMarian, and Solid Stone receiving the runner-up spots. 

The first runner-up spot was awarded to Subandrio, who is making his second appearance on Perspectives.  The Dubai based producer’s track 'Twisted Dimension' was included in the WMC Sampler earlier this year, and his cutting-edge sound has been making waves in the underground ever since.  Subandrio's interpretation stayed true to the heady vibe of the original, and its percussive energy and twisted lines along with a haunting retouch of the vocals made for an amazing vibe.  A top notch interpretation from a future star.

Akos Turzai aka Nova Gravity started his musical career in 2003. At the beginning under different names and genres, but he ended up by 4/4 beats music. In 2007 he joined the Lollipop Factory Budapest party organizer team, after that he became busy in the Hungarian electronic scene and played a lot on parties, radio shows or often on festivals and had some international gigs in European cities like Vienna, Dublin, Berlin. In 2009 he moved to Berlin and soon he was found by the Pink-Pong Booking Agency and Record Label. Lots of great gigs in Berliner clubs, open air parties and festivals. By the time his musical taste moved more to the German Techno, House and Psychedelic way and in 2012 the project Nova Gravity was born. In his music he is alway focusing on the flow driven by crystal clear progressive trippy sounds. After four years of living in Berlin he returned back to Budapest in 2013. He is sharing all the impressions he got from Berliner nightlife to the Hungarian scene. Since than he is running two monthly events, one called BAR 72 and the other one is Sine Wave.

Buenos Aires DJ and producer Juan Astudillo debuts on Sudbeat with three tremendous musical gems.

'Macumba' opens proceedings, with its bubbling bassline, and infectious top line, as quality oozes out of its every musical pore. The rounded infectious vibe intensifies as the subtle vocal snippets and clever yet subtle only effects, create further tension and intensity as little gem really unfurls.

'Sorcerer' is a driving slab of peak time magic, but with an air of deepness underpinning its musical soundscape. Didgeridoo's meet arpeggiators as the melodies generate forceful yet emphatic underground portray, that then drops to a dreamy tranced out breakdown, showing the tracks subtle side, before pouring back with all of its energy and charisma.

‘Shaman’ closes the deal, as this throbbing melodics powerhouse of a track unleashes its dynamics. Worldly layers merge effortlessly as the track builds, and the energy levels increase, yet remain symphonic and infectious throughout. Big bass, forrest like sounds and beautiful harmonies all gel to create a dance floor monster.

SB111 | Juan Astudillo 'Shaman' (Original Mix)

Randy Seidman & Ido return to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Dreamwalker which features two solid remixes from Rishi K. and Seth Vogt. Randy is one of the hardest working electronic music artists in Los Angeles. Since 2007, he has been the top support choice of Infected Mushroom, playing over 450 shows with them around the world (from Ecuador to India, Mexico to Russia, Canada to Ibiza, New York to Madrid, and countless places in between). He has had a stream of releases supported by the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Sander Kleinenberg, Ad Brown, Omid 16b, and Matan Caspi to name just a few. Ido marks his return to BP after his quality remix on Randy's (along with Steve Porter) Safe Passage track just a few months ago. This guy has a seriously impressive release count on several labels and he has enjoyed great support from many quarters over the years. He has also worked alongside Randy in the past as well as other top artists in their field. Great to see both guys back for more.

The Original Mix offers a wonderfully lush progressive vibe thanks to a sublime bassline that moves effortlessly through the sound. A tight drum arrangement keeps the rhythm moving nicely alongside subtle melodic pads that fill out the background. The break reveals cascading arps, rich pads and a beautiful musical element which beefs up the sound adding textures and contrast. A top notch slice that is not to be missed. 

It's been a while since we've seen Rishi K. at BP and we're delighted to have him back on remix duties here. It was way back in 2015 when we last saw him on our Bonzai & Friends compilation. Since then he's been doing the rounds on various labels, but one thing is for sure, he never lets up on the quality. Always a pleasure to have him here. The remix intros with a nice chunky kick drum and crispy hi hat combi alongside a subtle melodic arpeggio. A deep droning bassline takes control of the groove, leading us deeper into the progressive abyss. A simply wonderful slice that will add flavour to any set, a definite must have no doubt.

New York City’s Tim Robert is driven to create music that is rich with creativity and emotional depth and to bring compelling DJ/vocal performances to live audiences. Originally a rock guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Tim’s bands released albums and toured the U.S. in the early 90s; he then wrote music and lyrics for rock theater in the late 90s and early 2000s. 

Inspired by the immense sonic adventurousness and emotional power of electronic dance music, Tim ultimately turned to producing and DJing. Tim’s productions are now gaining the attention of the international underground scene, and with several of Tim's releases featuring his own vocals, he is beginning to sing live at his club shows.

Modern Agenda is thrilled to have this new EP from Tim Robert – Love Will Make Us Fly, with unique remixes from qoob and Robert Mason. Tim’s powerful performance background shines with the title vocal track. It’s got that old school, new-age, groovy psychedelic sound – met by current Underground vibes. The Dub is a welcome addition to the pack for those who are a bit vocal-shy in their mixes.
 
qoob brings us his dreamy, synth-laden progressive sounds for that “touch the sky” piece de resistance. From the first enlightening note, you know you are set to take flight with qoob on a beautiful soundscape journey.

Robert Mason brings his well-known dirty groove with a bit techier sound. Selective vocal snippets are added as texture while the bass and percussion carry the tune to a very effective break and release. 

This EP is warm and filled with analog goodness and human emotion. You’re sure to find a track to fit your sets at any hour.

Tim Robert - Love Will Make Us Fly (Qoob Remix) [Modern Agenda]

Returning to Proton Music in October 2018, the "Audacity" EP represented Simos Tagias at his finest with two exceptional original tracks. Remixes from a Croatian superstar and Australian mainstay now continue the story.

An undisputed master of his craft, Petar Dundov has represented the underground dance scene with considerable aplomb for over 25 years. With his innovative sound design and unique sonic architecture, the Croatian has been at the vanguard of a genre-defying sound that perhaps identifies most closely to techno for Dundov himself. Melding rhythm and melody in distinctive patterns that have mesmerised global audiences at festivals such as, "I Love Techno" and "EXIT, and clubs including and Tokyo's "Womb" and Berlin's achingly cool "Berghain", work for a plethora of blue-chip imprints has appeared in tandem. Thus, Music Man, Systematic Recordings, Cocoon and Bedrock have all played host to Dundov's iconic sound.

Making his Proton Music debut, the Petar Dundov remix of the title track takes "Audacity" on a rolling groove inspired journey that pulsates gently on a wave of sumptuous pads and familiar motifs from Tagias' original. Evolving elegantly, a searing arpeggio filters into sonic range towards the mid-point before the track explodes in the second half with a huge analogue bassline and intricate percussive cadence full of clave groove. The resultant work is a glorious sonic collage of the highest order.

Gavin Griffin is an artist requiring no introduction to the Proton Music faithful. A producer whose trajectory continues to rise exponentially, his GMJ moniker has been closely linked to the Particles and Proton Music labels with a host of original music, both in solo and collaborative guises. An artist with an acute understanding of the underground music scene, a passion for his craft shines through with his "deep emotive electronic music". Indeed, some 300 production credits feature the GMJ name as his work continues to feed the catalogues of such celebrated imprints as Balkan Connection, Open Records and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat.

A regular on Proton Music with several original EPs alongside fellow Australian, Matter, and a collaboration with iconic Hungarian producer, East Café, October 2017's "Sovereign Reality" saw GMJ make his solo debut with an EP of ambitious scope and immaculate production. Now returning after remixes of Dousk and Nocturna, the GMJ remix of "Elaza" epitomises GMJ's attention to detail as an immaculately polished rhythmic foundation plays host to an array of rich, haunting melodies. Signature motifs from Tagias' original make their presence felt in the second half as they blend seamlessly with GMJ's additional production material – the result is an interpretation that sees the Australian at the top of his artistic endeavours.

Remixes from Petar Dundov and GMJ have the "Audacity" to take Simos Tagias to an even higher level.

Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes more fresh talent to the label with Sergey Muzarks making his debut. The Russian artist first appeared on the electronic underground in December of last year with an EP via CJ Art’s Deepersense Music. Subsequent releases for Freegrant Music and Outta Limits have propelled Sergey into one of his country’s top up and coming progressive house artists. Now continuing that momentum the Moscow resident debuts on Soundteller with ‘Timeless’.

Spread across two tracks it’s the peak time sensibility of the title selection which gets the EP underway. Electric rhythms and a solemn overlay set the tone, as a bed of warm beats and immaculately carved bass drops in. Tastefully executed, it’s poignant arps, indistinct vocals and glowing pads highlight the first act. The break finds the melodic narrative open up even more with a grandiose lead line elevating emotion before getting washed away in a classic build and charged final act.

The companion piece ‘Contemplation’ operates in a similar sonic plane and is equally excellent. Perhaps a touch tougher and more deliberate at the outset it’s a cinematic canopy and playful arps that quickly take you into more emotive territory. Once again indistinct vocals play a role, tastefully adding emotion at key moments while the main break brings a heartfelt vibe to finish the release off on a reflective note. It rounds out a sensational EP from Sergey who continues to rise with his Soundteller debut. Highly recommended.

History learns people have always seen us as ambassadors of quality electronic music regardless the genres we touch. Over the years music has evolved, so did our musical taste, a combination which is pushing us to think more forward.

In order to focus on what we really want to do and giving artists what they deserve, it's become necessary to discontinue some of our labels. Most of these labels are part of that trance scene which we helped develop in the early 90's. The trance scene of today does not fit our vision, so we will fully focus our 3 remaining trance labels (Subtraxx, Camouflage & Nemesis) on quality progressive trance.

You will wonder now what we really want to focus on, well deep progressive, mini tech, tech house and real progressive house as we have been doing in our own way over the past year on Bonzai Progressive, Bonzai Basiks, ...
