One year on since the release of their latest EP, “Rituals”, German flagship duo Township Rebellion returns to SVT with “혼돈 과 질서” (“Chaos and Order” in Korean). Clad in some kind of sci-fi-indebted dystopian - yet no hopeless - scenario, the twofold EP summons ambiguous visions of a world caught in limbo between technologically advanced societies bound to collapse and ambitions for a brighter future through enhanced levels of empathy and understanding that long to surface.  

First is “Chaos”, a slo-blooming roller that steadily swells towards proper club epicness as its arpeggios unfold. Tapping into 80s-laced, Moroder-friendly Italo with a train-like electro-swing for the main conductor, the cut reels out like the soundtrack to a bumpy otherworldly dream where shapes, colours and sounds entangle in a cosmogonic ballet of sorts. Flip sides and here is the steely, yoking counterpart to TR’s free-flowing opener, “Order”. Flexing its metal muscles and giving maximum room to martial kicks and AI-implemented programming, the track reels out like a brooding call-to-arms, merging thunderous echoes with a truly enslaving gridlocked groove.

It's time for the first remix on the singles of Pelace their 'Echoes' album. Naeiiv is kicking off with his remix of 'Forever Together'. In his remix he perfectly took the main melody and elements of the original and transposed it into his own sound. The remix has this characteristic deep groovy and four-the-floor beat elements, on top of which the main melody is converted to a tremendous synth, forming a high energy on the dancefloor.

The next remix on the singles of Pelace's 'Echoes' album comes from the Spanish Sasha Carassi, who already has been a part of our scene for a substantial time. Sasha turned the main single 'Echoes From The Past' into a dark and groovy indie-dance dancefloor smasher. He separated the elements of the original pretty obvious, but brought them back together around his deep and somewhat aggressive bassline, stab and drums. After the break, these last three will make you feel like entering the fast lane.

Township Rebellion, Victor Pilava & Roemisch - Fantasia On A Theme (Original Mix) [Rose Avenue]

Spanish DJ and producer Alex Vidal churns out another top notch cut on Bonzai Progressive with Mesmerized. Just a few months ago we saw him on remix duty for Audio Noir's, Life which proved very popular indeed on many playlists. Since then he has racked up appearances on our Ibiza 2015 compilation as well as showings on Green Martian's Afterhour Trax 15 and 16.

Mesmerized takes us down into the progressive abyss with a truly captivating array of sounds that blend effortlessly into a superb construction. Right from the off as the percussions form up to the backdrop of an atmospheric pad and the fading in punchy kicks, we get locked into the groove. A proper, raw, dirty bass picks up the pace and really delivers the goods to keep asses shakin'. Scattered around you'll find smooth vocal licks and subtle melodic phrases that pop out for a short time before getting lost in the mire once more. An epic slice of prog that will definitely grab the attention of many this summer.

Distant Lights intros with a somewhat tender kick drum that sits nicely alongside those captivating pads that ebb and flow. A smooth and steady rhythm is picked up by the crispy hats and tight percussion arrangement with a further boost by the deep rooted, driving bass line that dominates the track throughout. Sweeping strings and pads come complete with drifting melodies as synths threaten to burst out. On the break be prepared to totally lose yourself in the cosmic soundscape with that tough edged bass line as the backbone. A hell of a track that is most definitely going to be a main player in many sets no doubt.

Iraqi born DJ and producer Mustafa Ismaeel (formerly knows as Moosick)debuts on Green Martian with The Chase. Although born in Baghdad, Mustafa grew up in India and ultimately ended up living in Canada. The experience of being exposed to different cultures has played a huge part in his sound. He started to DJ while at university and played at top clubs around Toronto including Sound Academy and Club 77. He has also graced the decks at the Bacardi NH7 festival in Bangalore and the Garden Of Eden festival in Southern Ontario as well as multiple guest spots across various radio stations. Lots more to come from this guy in 2015, so stay tuned. The Chase comes packed with three top notch remixes.

The Original Mix intros with a superb kickdrum that packs a nice punch on the low end and some cool rhythmic drums to get the floor moving. A deep, probing bassline comes through and takes over with its powerful groove and is soon joined by cool pads that sweep across sound. Sustained chords drive the hypnotic edge of the track as the shuffling hats keep the rhythm flowing. On the break those chords come to life with sharp stabs that split the low frequencies in two. A top notch cut that will be a welcome addition in many sets.

The first of three remixes is Jekyll's Metastasis Remix which intros with a cool elemental flow as rattling chimes are met with blowing winds and light rain. In the background a warm pad begins its rise alongside a distant heart beat. A nice big punchy kick comes out of nowhere with crisp hats in tow and we soon find ourselves on the cusp of an epic ride. Sharp, bright melodic keys dish out a cool lead as a siren winds up and takes us deep into the groove with the addition of a driving bassline. On the break the melodies break free in various guises and deliver a sublime sequence before crashing right back into the main track for the duration. A wonderfully rich progressive journey you will not want to miss.

Onez!e returns to remix duty on Green Martian after a short hiatus. We last saw this talented artist back in November 2014 with his remix on Lonely Sun & Nicolas Agudelo's Robotronica which turned a few heads and gained great support. Here he takes the remix on a fantastic ride filled with wonderful melodies and a driving relentless bassline that never lets up. An intensity develops in the track as those background pads and winding synths rise and rise bringing the track to its highest level before we drop into the break where the bass remains king. A deep progressive monster that will shake up a lot of floors.

Video Life debuts on Green Martian with a fantastic remix that will fast become a go to track for sure. On the intro we get a soft start as muted kicks are joined by a cascading percussion and shuffling hats. The softness disappears as a superb offset bass ploughs through and dominates the sound. The bass transforms after a short break and delivers a powerful, driving groove that is matched beautifully with strong chords and a tight drum arrangement. A definite go to track that will keep the party rocking.

Dear Deer's remarkable 2019 continues with another big new release this time from Ziger with a remix from Jiggler.

Sunny Days is the single from Ziger and it is a deep seven minute odyssey into atmospheric techno. There are moody synths over rolling drums and bass to carry you away. Jiggler remixes into something more upright and melodic, with big sheets of synth rumbling up top beneath rising keys.

This is a fine EP that makes a real mark.

'Yoshitoshi Celebrates 25 Years with Three Genre-Focused Compilations : House, Techno, Melodic House.

For the Melodic House edition of Yoshitoshi 25, we’ve focused on the tracks that were either too proggy for house or too melodic for techno. Many house historians would claim that this sound has been Yoshitoshi’s bread and butter throughout the years, and this final entry into the Yoshitoshi 25 compilation series demonstrates exactly why. As with the other two compilations, we’ve selected a handful of freshly remastered, stone-cold classics such as PQM’s “You Are Sleeping (Luke Chable Mix),” Valentino’s “Flying,” and Morel’s “True (The F****t Is You - Deep Dish Remix),” and mixed them up with the most memorable modern records from Yoshitoshi’s catalogue like OC & Verde’s “Indica,” Khainz’s “Collider,” and Red Axes’ remix of Dino Lenny’s “I Feel Stereo.” Of course the package wouldn’t be complete without some new remixes, so Sharam and Armonica have delivered some beautifully-crafted reworks of Yoshitoshi classics. Sharam takes on Luzon’s mega-classic “The Baguio Track,” turning the tune into a dark roller that has been the talk of his recent Burning Man sets. Armonica crafted an amazing remix of Anarcrusan’s “In My Mind” that winds gracefully between delicate, dreamy riffs and bouncy, bass-driven breakdowns. The final package is a perfect way to end the Yoshitoshi 25 series, giving both new listeners and longtime fans of the label an expansive view of the label’s legacy. History learns people have always seen us as ambassadors of quality electronic music regardless the genres we touch. Over the years music has evolved, so did our musical taste, a combination which is pushing us to think more forward.

In order to focus on what we really want to do and giving artists what they deserve, it's become necessary to discontinue some of our labels. Most of these labels are part of that trance scene which we helped develop in the early 90's. The trance scene of today does not fit our vision, so we will fully focus our 3 remaining trance labels (Subtraxx, Camouflage & Nemesis) on quality progressive trance.

You will wonder now what we really want to focus on, well deep progressive, mini tech, tech house and real progressive house as we have been doing in our own way over the past year on Bonzai Progressive, Bonzai Basiks, ...
