Ready To Break

Saintway’s new upbeat folk pop single, “Here Comes the Fire”, reminds you of that fine line where a folk song becomes the highlight of a summer pop festival. With its nanana- and oh-oh-oh melodies in the style of Vance Joy, combined with the pop-influenced vocal harmonies that you could easily integrate to an EDM hit, the song is a perfect soundtrack to a cozy feel-good Saturday hangout.  

The sunshine vibes are contrasted by the slightly gloomy lyrics about the kind of complicated relationships where the end is no longer a choice, but a matter of leaving space for something better in your life. However, the single is sounds way less country-ish or chill-folk than their previous release, which gives a rather lighthearted and hopeful tone to an otherwise harsh goodbye.  

Originally a duo conformed by the brothers Kristiansson in their native Lund in 2014, the band later became a five-piece act when they moved to Stockholm. Their sound has evolved from acoustic, chill indie-folk tunes to a more pop-oriented vibe that would be the delight of any EDM remixer. Their 2016 slow indie folk ballad, “Dark Clouds”, earned them a place on Swedish National Radio Station P3, on their program for upcoming talents. The song was on the top 10 voted by the audience for several weeks.   

After working on establishing themselves in the local Stockholm scene and some summer festivals across Sweden, Saintway is preparing for the release of “Here Comes the Fire”, which will be available as a digital single on September 7th.
