Qrion releases her electrifying new single ‘Proud’, taken from her upcoming debut album ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’, which lands October 29 via Anjunadeep.

A spicy club anthem, ’Proud’ is the third single to come from Qrion’s debut album. Featuring an elated vocal hook sampled from Deniece Williams’ rendition of The Impression's single ‘I’m So Proud’ on an addictive four-to-the-floor rhythm, ‘Proud' evokes that true hand-in-the-air feeling. The track joins an acclaimed catalogue supported by the likes of Danny Howard at BBC Radio 1 and Jason Bentley at KCRW, as well as prolific producers such as TSHA, Moon Boots, Lane 8, The Aston Shuffle, 3LAU, and Gorgon City.

An album built on nostalgia and sentimentality, ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever' pays homage to Qrion’s memories childhood and her dad, and captures the feelings she felt when moving from her hometown of Sapporo to San Francisco to pursue a career in music. Speaking on the album, Qrion exclaims “I connected with my old memories - the feelings of spending time with my Dad, the time I lived with my family in Japan, and the small but important moments of my life from my life in Sapporo.”

‘I Hope It Lasts Forever' is the latest triumph in a career that’s seen Qrion release on Mad Decent, Last Night on Earth, and This Never Happened, and be named on Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30, adding to notable support from the likes of Clash, Mixmag and The Fader. Having shared the stage with Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson, Deadmau5, and Tourist, Qrion now takes to the road with her own headline tour across North America in support of the album.

This release sees the producers expand on their ever-evolving sound palette with a 4 to the floor, pumping club record.

No strangers to club DJ booths and festival stages, Icarus have pulled on their experience to create this infectious banger. A weighty bassline provides a big dose of low end, punctuating bold drums that nod to both Techno and UK Garage. Deftly resampled vocal chops sit alongside Lenn’s delicately placed melodies to round off the record. The breakdown is where the hallmarks of a more ‘classic’ Icarus sound become apparent. Atmospheric pads, washed out vocals, and a warm, pulsating bass take the listener on an expanding journey before building back into another round of the hard-hitting bass groove. ‘Last Night Felt Like The Future’ serves as another reminder as to why Icarus cannot be second guessed, and gives us as exciting glimpse of what’s to come.

Bristol brothers, Icarus continue to deliver with their new single ‘Forever’. 

A high energy, 4 to the floor club record, 'Forever' delves into the harder side of the duo’s sound, whilst still maintaining sprinklings of their signature, melodic style. A robotic style vocal features throughout with the melancholic yet compelling lyrics "I don’t wanna feel like this forever, I don’t wanna be like this forever".   

Icarus say:

"We randomly stumbled across the vocal on our studio computer, which we'd recorded years ago and were immediately drawn to how powerful the lyrics were. Turning it into a more robotic sound instantly made it feel more clubby to us, so we knew which direction we wanted to take the track. We really enjoy pairing dark and moody lyrics with music that still has a sense of euphoria and energy about it.
