Carloh makes his Hottrax debut this April with the groove-laden ‘Ritmo Rico’. 

Hailing from Ecuador, Carloh’s infectious, Latin-infused take on house has landed on labels such as Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, and Desolat whilst picking up support from Marco Carola, LEON, Paco Osuna and more. Now, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax welcomes the South American DJ and producer to the family with his three-track EP, ‘Ritmo Rico’. 

“The ‘Ritmo Rico’ EP is inspired by Colombian flavours and influences, with subtle elements that give it native characteristics that represent both myself and South America. The tracks combine classic house with modern Latin American elements to showcase three versatile dancefloor cuts’’ - Carloh 

Title track ‘Ritmo Rico’ is a swinging number boasting tumbling percussion, alluring lyrics and playful keys, before elastic basslines layered under popping hats, claps, and stirring samples take the reigns in ‘Backlash’. To close, the snaking ‘BBY’ serves up convulsing low-ends, graceful pads and chopped vocals in this slick, rolling cut.

‘Booty Side’ uses its compass to expertly navigate its way through bubbling acid and rolling snares as we go in search of Jack, while the title track will have us going ape to its chest-beating bump and knuckle-dragging groove.

Silverback beats swing low on the flip too as ‘King MTF Kong’ bites hard with its heavy Chicago hustle and detuned synth, while the feral Juke-infused finale, ‘Gorilla Walk’, is a break-neck bass-driven and bruising encounter that is more Jersey club than Empire State building.
