Bootlegs and underground music scenes have been closely tied entities for years. people have always been secretly exchanging pirate bowie’s concert tapes, rare psychedelic rock nuggs, obscure funk breaks… even the hometown dj’s last mixtape got recorded on sly by the sneakiest guy on the block, in order to provide his mate’s cars with the freshest sound for a few bucks.

As parties have been down for a while now (because of you-know-who), our bootleggers of the worldwide web wanted to provide you some pre-recorded audio serotonin. The offer being currently quite overwhelmed by (still, awesome) bedroom music podcasts, these bootlegs series will only feature some real gonzo action, with dj mixes recorded during intimate parties.

Recorded back in august during our summer vineyard party sometime between 2 and 4AM in south of France’s Occitania region. The dancefloor, a concrete terrace, was filled with close friends and surrounded by dark vineyards and a big tree quietly dancing with the wind. As little bright spots, the surrounding villages could be seen far away, still not close enough to worry anybody…

Based in London, Son of Paul has spent the last decade meticulously crafting a sound centered around otherworldly and dystopian themes, exploring the middle ground between techno, electro, and house, primarily through his preferred medium - vinyl.  

Underpinned by a deep dedication to the craft, he co-founded Pastry Selects in 2019 with close collaborators, a platform broadcasting deeper and darker electronic music on 103.7 FM and championing London’s underground electronic scene. His profound respect for music has led to a current residency with Next Door Records, where he has supported artists such as Z@P, Bobby., Samuel Jabba, and others.  

Increasingly appreciated for his ability to command the energy from the early opening slots through to the witching hours in respected London venues, Son of Paul has earned the respect of both ravers and fellow artists.

His selection is house oriented, groovy rich, (C) as well as sublte and refined. It reflects a various pallet of styles and influences, always heading to the dancefloor.
