Answering ICONYC's distinct call, Belgian sound alchemists RE-TYPE step up to the plate with their superb three-track EP, Echoes. Designers of a prolific discography, Lucas and Pieter's arresting creations have garnered support from major players, including the likes of Tale Of Us and Camelphat, as they carve a unique trajectory, empowered by a sound that exists in its own timeline, lying far beyond the imagination of most modern creators.
 
Reflecting what once was, the EP's titular "Echoes" finds RE-TYPE knee-deep in a chugging groove where thumping kicks and restless hi-hats drive us down a cavernous rabbit hole of illusions. Here, we are lured by washed-out vocals that linger, echoing across mirrored halls before coming into focus as they light up the piece, unveiling a laser-cut lead line for a dazzling experience. With the track now in full throttle, our Belgian maestros then terraform a second break, taking the dial up to 11 for maximum impact before "Echoes" dissolves into the past for a full circle.                                 

As we hit play on our answering machines, RE-TYPE present us with "Dalliance", where a coded message and a dense frame cut through the static with consummate ease. Shrouded in a cosmic haze, the production duo unleashes a tantalizing lead that traverses across a stabbed bassline and meandering synth swells that dance in the background, carelessly, unaffected by the track's own entropy. A Bonafide ICONYC future classic, Solique's "Ordinary Things" is a true staple of refined sophistication. Following his acclaimed debut on ICONYC in late 2024, Italian producer Daniel Tagliaferri returns to the transatlantic label as Ivory with Want, a four-part suite that deepens his sonic language and sharpens his emotional vocabulary. With a precise command of space, rhythm, and tension, Want feels less like a follow-up and more like a statement of intent, one that situates Ivory among the most sensitive sculptors of the modern dancefloor.

Opening piece "Want You" operates on restraint and release. Beneath a tightly wound rhythmic chassis, Ivory allows elements to breathe: a spectral vocal motif slinks into view, met by tightly coiled bass pressure and gently oscillating synth lines. It's a slow ignition, offering tension without urgency, seduction without sentimentality.

"Like That" pushes further into the shadows, layering intricate percussive work against glowing analog textures. Arpeggios shimmer with a retro-futurist sheen, folding into themselves like fading memories. Argentinean Dynacom returns to ICONYC 3 years to the day for his 2nd release. His last outing back of October 2018 was received to high acclaim - with huge support from the big boy brigade at the time. With his long-awaited return to ICONYC, Dynacom delivers a slice of late summer vibes titled 'Lost Boy'. The original mix kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through melodic inspired deep beats and harmonies are in full swing. The track twists effortlessly throughout. It's all about the groove, cool vibes that are working their magic around the wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible vibe.

On remix duty we welcome the mighty Renato Cohen. The Brazilian producer, who has seen his work released on some of the world's finest labels certainly needs no introduction. Renato created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the indie stimulated vibe keeps you moving with warm pinging sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication while the groove keeps you moving. "Essential stuff!"

To close out the release we welcome Russian duo HIGHLITE, who are known for their polished, indie influenced sound. They keep the theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. This mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. Outstanding remix from HIGHLITE.

Dynacom's second coming on ICONYC really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful inspired gem guides you to a full-on melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments! Ziger lands back on ICONYC this week with a brand-new single entitled 'Feel the Bass'. The Greek producer continues to be one of the top tier progressive house artists with continued support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, along with releases on Eleatics, Beatfreak, Sudbeat and his own Eat My Hat imprint. 

'Feel The Bass' finds Ziger at his creative best with a driving, hypnotic production that's nicely dialed in or the dance floor. Punchy beats and a full, driving groove anchor the piece, as vibrant tones and spacey effects adorn the framework. The main break hits suddenly and its astral charm quickly saturates your pleasure centers, before melting down to a cavernous reservoir as the beats drop for a storming finale. 

The first remix of 'Feel the Bass' comes courtesy of LA based producer Anakim who returns to the label with a deep melodic remix here. The US artist reshapes the original elements into something deeper and more melodic spacious sounding. The wonk factor on the low end is quite high and monumentally groovy as well, nicely playing off the rolling rhythmic qualities as dulcet hooks and gentle harmonics drift in and out of the framework. The main break shifts the narrative into more emotive territory but the dance floor sensibility remains, with muted beats and percussive clusters building towards a tasteful drop. Superb rework from Anakim. 

The third and final interpretation comes from label debutants Propellar. The Berlin based duo follow excellent releases on MUKKE, Katz & Kauz and Family Piknik with a brilliant interpretation here. Deep, compelling and acutely mysterious, it's deep melodic qualities and richly textured groove make for a lovely first act. As atmospheres evolve, distinctive stabs and vocal edits steal the air, before a one-minute break takes you further into a haze of psychedelic audio, perfectly setting up a groovy finale. A brilliant remix from Propellar that's likely destined for the sets of the big boy brigade. Highly recommended.

The second remix comes from label debutant Th3 Oth3r. The Spanish' producers sound is a tough thing to pin down. He is such a unique act in the sense that his emotional creations carry quite a large scope. Th3 Oth3r is not afraid to explore esoteric or introspective themes and the end result is always a compelling one. Such is the case with his remix of 'Hunger', which carries many of his most loved production hallmarks. From a warm, meaty low end to icy atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to love. The main break being the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with an effortless ease. It's something you rarely see and he pulled off beautifully here.

Allies for Everyone & Rafael Cerato's return to ICONYC, with two amazing remixes from Browncoat & Th3 Oth3r, is a triumphant one. Led by an instantly recognizable vocal, the austro-swedish project's tantalizing piece has enthralled dancefloors and festivals worldwide for months, and now, we're excited to give it the remix treatment as it goes under the surgical vision of Prague-based maestro Spada, Dutch alchemist Volar, and Irish provocateur Olive Hatake, plus an exclusive "Piano Version" by famed Italian concert pianist Luigi R. Gargano. 

On our first remix, Spada steps up to the plate with a gorgeous percussive foundation that sets a most flavorful mood before meandering flanger squelches uncover a warm bassline that gently invites us deeper inside this lush take on "Ordinary Things". Smoldering yet restrained, Spada's velvet-laced reinterpretation suddenly reveals a tantalizing break in the clouds as every element converges into the void, exploding in a splendid genesis of a third act where icy arpeggios intertwine, traversing endlessly across the piece in an unrepeatable sliver of bliss.

The second version of "Ordinary Things" comes courtesy of Volar, who devises a throbbing low-end pulse that runs amok through the grit. As mangled vocals lend a gloomy and mysterious feel to this reinterpretation, the Dutch producer reveals a tantalizing lead that slithers across the piece, drawing hypnotic figures in mid-air while leading to a showstopping core where everything dissolves into the ether before resuming its unstoppable midnight march.

Our final remix in this comprehensive package is a most unique take and showcases Olive Hatake's unmistakable sonic signature as the Irish artist reconfigures "Ordinary Things" into a full-blown technicolor skitterish hybrid. Driving Solique's dazzling original into new territory, Olive pushes the tempo and unleashes a myriad of cascading arpeggios that interlock with swelling synths and an earth-quaking bassline for a wild ride across Rainbow Road.

Wrapping up this gemstone of a remix package, Luigi R. Gargano makes a sensational debut on ICONYC with a much-cherished "Piano Version". Intimate as ever, this breathtaking delivery finds the famed Italian pianist lowering his defenses as he strips "Ordinary Things" to its naked core, allowing for its story to be told by a rummaging piano that walks across the halls of yesterday in search for answers it might never come to find.

Roberto Traista is been causing quite a stir with his melodic influenced driving progressive house productions. He has seen his works released on labels like PHW Elements, Hydrogen and Clinique amongst others, and has gathered massive support from the world’s finest.

With his return to ICONYC after his huge successful Air EP, Roberto turns it up a notch and shows maturity and musical development, as we kick off with the deep, hypnotic warm melodic layers of ‘Broken Promises’, interspersed with subtle effective percussion while the drop is a glowing bucket of emotions. Roberto manages to keep the energy up, subtlety allowing the driving house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape.

Next up we have 'Dark Anger' which opens with stunningly textured deep pads that warm the soul before a strong melodic infused bassline provides the base for this inspired piece to play out in delayed glory. Intermittent drums and soft soaked percussions in reverb come together to create a structured sphere of sonic geniality. Essential stuff!

We welcome back Sean & Dee to the label with their new single 'Sea Turtle' featuring remixes from Andy King and Mila Journée. 

The plucky Italian duo had a great 2019 with tracks signed to Outta Limits and Natura Viva among others and struck gold with a Beatport top 10 for FSOE UV. Their single-minded dedication to progressive music is also winning them many high-profile fans, and we very much expect their sonic journey to take a massive upswing this year. 

'Sea Turtle' is essential dancefloor weaponry. Upbeat and musical, the thundering kicks ushering in a mammoth tune. With bass fully engaged, the sonics begin; twisted sweeps, an epic pad and rhythm line, and later, acid, all working together to create a warm and inviting playground in your mind. Andy King opts for a deeper rendition, cooling down the originals epic overtones and focusing on the emotional content for those earlier warm up moments. While MIla Journée strips the original right back and recreates a chugging tribal prog remix that grows into an epic masterpiece.
