Mutant Joe returns with a digital self-released four track EP titled ‘Cortisol’.
Approaching this project with the intent to explore new sounds and ideas in a different direction from previous projects, Joe once again focuses on merging various genres and production techniques, this time with an emphasis on ambient and bass music.

‘When you encounter a perceived threat — such as a large dog barking at you during your morning walk — your hypothalamus, a tiny region at your brain's base, sets off an alarm system in your body. 
Through a combination of nerve and hormonal signals, this system prompts your adrenal glands, located atop your kidneys, to release a surge of hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol.
Adrenaline increases your heart rate, elevates your blood pressure and boosts energy supplies. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, increases sugars (glucose) in the bloodstream, enhances your brain's use of glucose and increases the availability of substances that repair tissues.

Cortisol also curbs functions that would be nonessential or detrimental in a fight-or-flight situation. It alters immune system responses and suppresses the digestive system, the reproductive system and growth processes.

This complex natural alarm system also communicates with the brain regions that control mood, motivation and fear.’

@rabanopicante has been around for a couple of years now, playing and co-curating parties in Wrocław and beyond. The DJ personality of @regime-brigade affiliate emerged from a murky club space called Uczulenie, where he regularly introduced the local audiance to hybrid bass sounds. In his mix for Destitute he takes an unruly ramble through cross-boundary, club-friendly music. Moody, dub-influenced riddims lead to a silly blend of Żabson and Suegua Kamau. Babyfather's Meditation serves as an obligatory tearing up throwback to pre-COVID reality and forces the mix to take a rather unexpected (also for the author) turn towards UK bass. Rabano Picante wraps it up with some cutting edge, disorientating experiments from the likes of Beatrice Dillon, DJ Scotch Egg and Gooooose.

Born from the fiery depths of hell, @syn6syn is a chaotic imp with a quirky attitude. Her productions derive influence from Brazilian and Latin percussion and has recently begun mangling her style with a wider scope of party-rocking rave noise within her several new and unnecessary genres such as DDM (dumb dance music) Raptor Donk and Hyperdrum.
