"Gloria" is an 80s inspired, post-punk/indie pop song about doing everything you can to keep the things you love close to you. A song dubbed "80s movie soundtrack music" by acclaimed producer Bob Doidge, "Gloria" helped define our sound and allowed us to see a bigger vision for Joys. "Gloria" was recorded live off the floor at the iconic Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, ON. The single is accompanied by a self-produced music video: a surrealistic, David Lynch-inspired ode to VHS.

On the heels of writing our first single "Gloria", "Safe in My Arms" was an experiment with synth-forward songwriting and would prove to be a sound-defining moment for Joys. "Safe in My Arms" was recorded live off the floor at the iconic Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, ON. The single’s lyrics and instrumentation reflect the dichotomy often present in the films of John Hughes. What comes across as a poppy, upbeat 80’s song on the surface tells a much deeper story underneath.
