Sera J joins for DifferentSound Podcast #166.

SERA J. is a techno music producer and dj from Greece. He was born and raised in Thessaloniki, while he produce music since 2008. Influenced by his favorite artist Jeff Mills his style can be typed as a combination of techno with catchy melodies, acid sounds, powerful baselines and Detroit details. Being a local artist of executive underground projects in his city, he has shared the booth with some of the most talented international & local artists, like Stef Mendesidis, Jonas Kopp, Dax J, Paal (Voitax), Keith Carnal, Setaoc Mass, Paula Temple, Axel Karakasis, JudaƩ, SNTS etc. , something that helped him to expand his knowledge on what he loves the most. With strong and very successful releases, on Out of Place, Adroit, Planet Rhythm he made a bigger step to the music scene while his music has gained massive and diverse support, from artists like Amelie Lens, Richie Hawtin, Dax J, Adam Beyer, Ellen Alien, Insolate, Alien Rain, just to name a few, charting and playing his tracks very often. He also became a resident radio producer on Paranoise Radio, a local web radio, and he holds his own monthly shows as a co-founder. His passion of music is what makes him going up. For him music is a state of mind, interaction, inspiration & creation.

Born in Greece with Italian and Austrian descent, DJ and producer Marina George specialises in creating a unique, captivating atmosphere for her audience. Building energy through groovy, hypnotic and driving techno, she always remains focused on depth, texture and sensuality. Original sampling, soundscapes and intelligent track selection ensure Marina connects with her audience both musically and emotionally.

Now based in Berlin, she frequents iconic clubs such as Renate, Watergate, Sisyphos and Tresor where she has curated her own nights and has landed residencies with Bloom and Texture. 

Marina's work is strongly influenced by a passion for psychology. Her music is infused with her own voice or samples from others on the subject; her curated nights are paired with interviews with her booked artists. All with the goal of shining a light on mental health within the music industry.

Since her first release on Suara, Marina has taken the time in her new homebase to truly refine her sound and speak her voice through sound waves. This podcast contains a number of freshly finished tracks with a mental health theme, blended with music by artists who greatly inspire her work.

L.A.W.- Late Night Sessions 26.08.2018

American producer Dustin Evans aka TEXTASY aka @aciddallas has let the music play this month, delivering a mix for EDWIN that mirrors his signature sound as a producer in a ninety-minute rhythmic trip. 

The man from Dallas, Texas loves the MPC and dances with 'her' gently to create moving club music that cannot be pinned down to one style. Instead, his productions melt acid, jungle, Miami Bass, electro, IDM and techno in a totally unabashed, fresh, contemporary way.

Since 2017, Dustin has released four EP’s on UK labels including Natural Science, E-Beamz, Dolphin Traxx and Craigie Knowes from Glasgow. With titles like 'Welcome To The Darkroom' and 'Dallas Gun Club', they display his seriously unserious approach to dance music.

On his very own label, FTP, the Berliner by choice publishes thrilling music by artists such as Son Of A Blunt and Detroit's Filthiest alongside his own work, walking the line between classic Detroit electro, feverish ghetto tech and other forms of weird but touching club jams. As a DJ he fuses the aforementioned styles in a fast-paced and energetic way, that can be only described with one word: RAVE.

So, enjoy his raw shaking ride for EDWIN and make sure the volume is in hyper position!

Imogen is already seen to be shaping the next generation of Electronic music. Originally from Southampton, Imogen moved to London to study music production and then put her own parties on before she was 18 just to be able to play in the clubs. She first created a platform with her radio residency to showcase already legendary and rising talent, since then things have moved pretty fast for her already playing at Berghain and opening The Moat for Dimensions festival.

Now the winter is approaching Imogen has a string of releases in the pipeline; her first release is coming out this month on Sunil Sharpes label ‘Earwiggle’ along side Giant Swan, Delta Funktionen and Autumns. There is also another piece from her on Mumdance’s Shared Meanings VA out later this year.

L.A.W., L.isa and A.lice W.allace, two sister DJs from Northern Ireland share a long-lived obsession of Techno music which led to the girls joining forces as a DJ and Production Duo. 

Their dark, unpredictable, heavy, underground techno and electronic sounds, evident in their DJ sets and recent productions reflect the uniqueness of the L.A.W. set up itself.

Previous residencies in their hometown, Ibiza, UK, Irish circles and Germany paints a picture of the future movement for L.A.W., with past appearances at some of the world’s top clubs under their belts; such as Space Ibiza, Privilege, Sankeys, Warehouse Project’s Afterlife, Stiff Kitten and Lehmann Club.

The girls debut release in 2010; ‘The Sword’ achieved airtime on “BBC Radio 1 Introducing…” show, while their follow up 'AWOL EP'  signed to the legendary Angel Alanis' 'Slap Jaxx' Record Label gained support from one of the pioneers in Techno; Dave Clarke through airplay on his legendary 'Whitenoise' Radio Show. 

L.A.W.’s attendance at the Amsterdam Dance Event last year seen the girls becoming the winners of the Demo Demolition Part XVI, in which a panel of Dave Clarke, DJ Pierre, Laidback Luke, Black Asteroid (Bryan Black), Mauro Picotto, Jim Tremayne and Niels Brands voted L.A.W. remix of Angel Alanis – ‘Tube’ as the winning submission. 

Since this achievement, the girls are going from strength to strength releasing EP’s on Tom Hades Rhythm Convert(ed), Selected Records and Rebekah’s hugely reputable label; Decoy Records. The Baron; Dave Clarke invited the girls to play live at his 400th White Noise Special Edition this summer and they now host their own monthly techno show on RTE 2FM which kicked off in September 2013.  

Forthcoming releases on Driving Forces Records and legendary US label; Black Nation Records is setting the soundscape for the next few months for L.A.W. Keep an ear out for these two girls… it’s all about techno.
