Radio Edit and Banging Edit of Le Boom's Friday Night

Featuring tongue-in-cheek repeated lyrics from Æ MAK, the radio edit of Friday Night dropped on March 4th. 

The live electronic act who are known to pack out venues such as the Olympia and fill tents at summer festivals like Electric Picnic and Indiependence will bring that signature high energy on a European tour in 2022.

Friday Night is the first track from a bigger body of work set to be announced later in the year. Inspired by clubs and written at a time when dancefloors all over the country lay silent and empty, the boppy release will soon be followed up by remixes from Dj/producers Jordan Nocturne, Gabe Gurnsey along with more Le Boom Club Edits.

‘I wrote it on a day when I just had the goo on me for a bop but couldn’t head anywhere. Felt like forever since I had had that buzz: low ceiling; frenzied lights; eyes closed in a sea of beautiful strangers. I wanted it to just be a straight-up cheeky banger that doesn’t take itself seriously. I sent a demo to my mate Aoife Mc Cann (Æ MAK) - I send her pretty much everything I ever make - and asked her to say/sing the vocal line. She’s so class and did a much better job than me.’

Le Boom’s forthcoming album traces the highs and lows of a summer of house parties - cans in hands, buzzing around a bluetooth speaker with your favourite people. The album marks a new beginning for Le Boom, building on a reputation for mixing melodic pop song structures with a myriad of electronic music styles - a mix of melody and body-shaking music. 'Friday Night', the first single from the forthcoming album, has been remixed by Jordan Nocture and Gabe Gurnsey.

The first remix of 'Friday Night' comes from producer, DJ, label head and promoter Jordan Nocturne. Jordan has performed for some of the biggest brands including Boiler Room and has had mixes for the likes of Ninja Tune Solid Steel, Beats in Space & Feel my Bicep. With an essence of 80s electro-pop, the track intertwines snappy chopped vocals and groovy synth samples.

Le Boom’s music traces the highs and lows of a summer of house parties - cans in hands, buzzing around a bluetooth speaker with your favourite people. 

Having previously played shows at Reading and Leeds, Primavera Pro and Iceland Airwaves, the summer of 2022 was spent playing late night slots at festivals in Europe (Tomavistas, Palencia Sonora, CanelaParty) and back at home in Ireland (Electric Picnic, Indiependence). Le Boom filled their downtime in cities by playing small secret location parties in low-ceilinged basements, disused warehouses and woodland areas, announcing locations via a signup list hours beforehand. Most recently, thousands of rain-drenched partiers, who had signed up to a call-out on the band's Instagram, converged on a secret location in the wooded area of Electric Picnic where Le Boom played an late night rave at Electric :Picnic. 

Next Time:
Their next release, Next Time, features Andy L, Christy Le Boom's brother and will drop on Le Boom's own label, Innocent Chap Sounds. Originally written for inclusion in a mixtape for on DJ and radio presenter jenny Greene's radio show, Next Time has become a standout moment at recent Le Boom live performances.

Speaking about the song, Andy says, 'Ah it’s just about that period of the night before it starts to get bright, before you hear the bird song or anything scary like that. When your friends feel like family and the only thing that matters is that they know that. So you tell them 100 times. And we did it the last time and we’ll do it all again the next time, and everything in between is a blur.'

Le Boom recently announced tour dates in Ireland and Europe including a huge headline show in the Irish capital's iconic 3Olympia Theatre along with a show in Berlin for the end of 2022, with more to be announced.
