Two aspects of Maison Fauna’s world collide on this one, as Bristol’s K-65 energetically remixes Durham-based Chainletter’s “Lyric St.” Originally a techno exploration, K-65’s take is an urgent, pressing electro banger, complete with unexpected timbral rides, whirling sound effects, and teasing builds fit for any dance-floor. As a prolific producer delving into a wide variety of genres, including breaks, drum and bass, and electro, K-65 has begun to make waves as an eclectic, well-rounded producer in the UK underground. With prior releases on Top Drawer Digital, Slippery Sounds, CORE ltd., Belters mag, Seagrave, Taipan Trax, Maison Fauna, and Over and Out, K-65’s accolades are skyrocketing almost as quickly as his discography. Guava is a producer and guitarist from the UK, now based in Berlin. With releases on 3024, Tread Records, Rhythm Section, Control Freak Recordings... he has been sharing his unique style through productions for years and now also with a guitar-based live set. Made of warm basslines, dreamy pads, sharp drums and lots of ear candy, "Stratospheric Pressure" is signature of this style and an ode to flying and planes, one of his passions.

Having focused on expanding the innovative scope of Livity through a prolific release schedule, frequent label nights and the 10th anniversary Molten Mirrors compilation, on the 'Pulse E.P.', Pev delivers on his reputation for inventive, sharply-focused club music with four lean, focused club tracks across the tempo range.

From the crooked formation and pointillist bleeps of ‘Pulse I’ through the light-footed percussion and airy melodies of ‘Pulse II’ to ‘Pulse III’s strafing techno synths and ‘Pulse IV’s surefooted, bass-loaded house jack, it’s an EP of variation and consistency in equal measure. From the infectious, alien melodic lines to the elegant angles of the drums, not to mention the weighty subs, it’s all strikingly fresh and unmistakably Pev.

The cave was pitch black, inside there was little sound but for the occasional drip of water which would send a ripple through the pond below. Looking down from up above, they wondered what lay in the murky depths of the quarry. What surprises might be but round the corner? What creatures? What comforts? What tricks? What treats?

That’s when there was a deep rumble from the ground below. It bellowed up through the cave like some loud drum before enveloping their eardrums with a might thud.

Then they flew forth, bats and bats and bats and bats.

Will Hofbauer steps forth for an EP on Will Saul’s longstanding record label Aus. This is a record built of playful bouncey house grooves, oddball sounds and fun. It’s destined to work a treat in the clubs with a silly sense of purpose and a tongue n’ cheek approach to the dance.

Here's a new one from me. I've been asked about this one loads recently and it's actually a remix rather than an original production. I was asked by Nervous Records to pick a track from their back catalogue to remix, for their 25 year anniversary celebrations. Initially it was a daunting task considering how many iconic tracks they've released over the years. After a few days digging, I remembered this ambient interlude mix that Francois K did of Kim English back in '97, and I always loved the chords that come in towards the end. It's the first time I have done a remix of a remix, hope you enjoy!

Taking their name from the neighbouring family of galaxies that contains the Milky Way, London duo Local Group may sound parochial but unleash cosmic scale energies on their debut 12”.

Inspired by their sets at UK festival Field Maneuvers, the 'dirty little rave' that the duo are residents at (playing alongside the likes of Mark Archer and Storm), title track 'Laser Dome' distills their unashamed love of hardcore's E fuelled rush into a haze of piano euphoria. Underground electro hero Dexorcist remixes it for the 140bpm crew, a rude bouncing bassline and hyper breakbeats keeping its continuum credentials in check.

On the flip 'Random Utterances' nods to the slower, darker, proggier breakbeat favoured by Tyrant at the start of the new millennium, bubbling acid bass, arpeggios, moody strings and '80s synth pop combining with interludes of lucid drug philosophising and distorted 808 bass. 'Rampage' signs off with a potent dose of pure jump up energy, a 150bpm Reese bassline tear out, complete with MC hype, drawing on the pair's love of jungle.

Fresh from her 'Raw Silk Uncut Wood' LP for Latency, Laurel Halo switches focus directly to the dance floor on this new collaborative EP with Livity Sound regular Hodge. The culmination of a series of recording sessions in Berlin, the pair have produced a record that burns with the energy and dynamics their respective DJ sets are known for, rounding out the year for the label in style.
