'Stretching out towards the Blue Mountains in the west of bustling Sydney, George Alhabel creates an “Omega Station”. A seismic bass groove reverberates across plateau escarpments as heavy beat anchors the rhythmic scaffold. White-noise effects crash like waves onto the rocks below, as smooth pads and glistening synths create a momentary stillness before a powerful denouement extends over the sonic horizon. A frequent flyer over the Mango Alley airwaves finds Belarusian star soaring to new heights. Subtle references to “Omega Station” create a new variation that finds brilliance in new aural overtones through Michael A. Familiarly dark, a powerful force of nature rises out of bassline dominance and hypnotic rhythm.

Returning from “Astrona”, ARTN presents a new vision of “Omega Station” from a land of rich history and geographical splendour. Cedar tree forests create a verdant canopy as swirling synths whistle through ancient branches to the white-capped peaks of Mount Lebanon. A pulsating bassline develops in familiar patterns as syncopated synth phrases exude class. A new icebreaker from Forty Cats reaches dizzying heights with a bouncing bassline and driving rhythmic force. Cascading melodic effects glisten over Mount Visokaya to provide new sonic focus for “Omega Station”, pitching and wheeling in glissando power.'

For Juicebox Music's 49th release, we're excited to welcome and host Kabi (AR) and K Loveski for their debut collaborative EP, featuring 'Lost In Roses' and 'Whisper From The Moon'. Hailing from Buenos Aires (Argentina), Lucas Khabie aka Kabi (AR)'s dreamy and club-effective style caught the attention of the progressive community with stellar EPs on Soundteller Records and Balkan Connection, back in 2020. Within a short span of time, he's had his music featured on Juan Pablo Torrez' "Clubsonica Records", Max Freegrant's "Freegrant Music" and Guy Mantzur's "Plattenbank". Konstantin Petrov, better known to everyone as K Loveski, is considered more of a veteran with production experience that spans over a decade and a DJ'ing career that's nearing thrice as long. The Saint Petersberg (Russia) native and WARPP club resident has seen his music being released on Nick Warren's "The Soundgarden" imprint and his mix for "Balance Music", Francesco Pico's "Magnitude Recordings" and Sonic Union's "Lowbit Records" to name a few.

Premiering their collaborative 2-track EP on Juicebox Music, Kabi (AR) and K Loveski showcase their unique styles while complimenting each other's strengths. 'Lost In Roses' paints a more euphoric mood with its lush melodies and energetic drive while 'Whisper From The Moon' digs deeper with it's funk-inspired groove and sprinkled riffs.

Born and raised in St Louis, Missouri, Will DeKeizer is the focus of our next release, offering up three delicious slices of progressive beauty in Metamorphosis, Moon Escape and Floating Frozen In Time. To round off this exceptional release we have enlisted Macedonia’s progressive wizard, Kandar, and Argentina’s Ivan Aliaga to give us their unique takes on Metamorphosis and Moon Escape respectively.  

Will DeKeizer comes armed with over fifteen years of classical training in piano and saxophone, and also first started to dabble in the electronic production world some fifteen years ago. Citing early musical influences such as Pink Floyd, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream, and more recent electronic influences such as Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren et al, it is easy to imagine the musical delights that Will is capable of creating, and after first coming to our attention last year via his amazing track, Karma, which featured on our compilation, Electrique Boutique - compiled and mixed by Steve Marx, it was only a matter of time before Will released his own EP with us. 

The EP begins powerfully with the title track Metamorphosis; an infectious slab of progressive breaks driven by an enveloping, rolling and evolving bassline, while ethereal atmospheric pads skim effortlessly over the top of a tight broken beat. Moon Escape follows in a more traditional 4/4 progressive format, featuring an addictive growling bass, shimmering key lines, playful subs, vocal stabs and a hauntingly beautiful piano melody, which all combine perfectly to create a timeless piece of dance floor ready progressive heaven. The third original, Floating Frozen In Time is a real journey piece. With a rumbling bassline driving the track forward from the off, and strong reverberated pads and shimmering percussion setting the scene for an epic expedition into the unknown. Next up, Kandar takes on the title track and puts a solid 4/4 spin on it. Definitely one for peak time excursions with a spine-tingling breakdown worthy of a festival stage. Last, but not in any way least, Ivan Aliaga gives us his take on Moon Escape, giving it a deeper more heads down feel while retaining and building on the euphoria created by Will’s stunning piano work. The track chugs and glides simultaneously with hypnotising ease, proving once again why Aliaga is one to watch.

Already starring in a lead role on the Meanwhile roster, Luka Sambe now makes his debut on sister label, Meanwhile Horizons with his 3-track “Spy Games” EP.

An artist of notable repute and over 400 production credits to his name, Luka Sambe has come a long wany since a debut EP for Exclusive Recordings in 2013. Releases on Robert Babicz’s Babiczstyle, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat and Guy J’s Lost & Found have cemented the Australian’s status as one of underground dance’s leading lights as he continues to build on an impressive year and an August release on All Day I Dream’s “Summer Sampler 2021”.

Opening the musical triptych, the title track is a glorious combination of chunky groove and rich melodic juxtaposition. Creating an evocative atmosphere with waves of pulsating pads and subtle motifs, stuttered synth lines filter in and out of sonic range with copious amounts of delay. Building with ease, a searing lead enters the fray at the mid-point to create another layer of intrigue in the aptly titled “Spy Games”.

“Ruminate” continues the immaculate percussive groove as clipped hats create a head-shaking pattern atop deep kick. Progressing in delicate fashion, oriental inspired synth lines ripple forth in time-synced delay as a glassy freeform melody supplies a counterpoint phrase. Pads full of stereo width enter the fray at the mid-point providing further texture, before the track hits its mark once more in the third movement where rhythm and melody combine once more to devastating effect.

The final track is a glorious electronica offering that revels in ambient percussive effects that create a mesmerising backdrop of real-world sounds transformed into rhythmic patterns. Simultaneously, plucked synth motifs combine with string phrases and myriad textured effects to create a warm and luscious offering that meanders gently across its 8-minute duration in unhurried and evocative fashion.

Creating delightful musical tension through a variety of powerful melodic actors, Luka Sambe is making waves on the world stage with his “Spy Games”.
